- STATISTICS IN PROGRESS -

What do you guys make of this? I personally think it's surprising that of all of the PS3's new IP million sellers, the average First Week sales are only 188k! That's seriously low. That's nearly as low Playstation All Stars: Battle Royale, which launched at 176k (not including digital sales or Japan sales). And we all know Battle Royale is a flop, no MAJOR flop!

Any questions, comments, suggestions, complaints, feel free to ask.

As i always say. First week sales arent an indiacation of a games success. It depends if the game has legs.

Okay, so PSASBR didn't fail yet.

I understand the point you're going for with this thread but just a small note: GRID isn't a new IP, it's part of the 'Race Driver' series which in turn is an evolution of the TOCA series.

Very interesting indeed. Given an MSRP of 59.99$ on average for FY1, could we get an estimate of the sales figures in one of the columns? And then, broken down between first and 3rd party games, could we get an idea of the slice of the sales the studio is getting (generally 34$/60$ of the sales figures go to 1st parties, and 27$/60$ go to 3rd party publishers)?

These 3 new columns under the same FY header would be good.

How does price gauge into this chart?
If a game becomes 50% of its retail price within a month sell more than the one that retain its full price for 6 months, are they really the same "legs" if their sales numbers are close to the same?

I did not consider price. It would be interesting though. Maybe I will add it in later if I can even find that type of data.

Wow, this is a very interesting article. Thanks.

I'm not sure what you mean by "estimate of sales figures." Those are sales figures under the "Year" column. Do you mean "revenue? As for everything else, I can only give a maybe. Seems like a lot of work. Perhaps after I add in the Metascores, as I'm sure many people will be interested in that.
