Didn't really think much of this feature when it was first announced.  Thought it wouldn't be used and amount to much.

Boy was I wrong.....

The community is generally very positive.  Seen like only 2 trashy posts that got deleted quickly.

It's very popular.  I mean VERY popular.  It amazes me how many comments there already are.

There are some a lot good artists out there.  Some of thier drawings are down right awe inspiring!!

Anyone else surprised on how well it is so early on in the Wii U's life cycle?

Imagine when we get millions of Wii U owners!!

It's just amazing. It's not a mini universe like Playstation Home. It's just a message board/Twitter hybrid. Not overly complex and very well moderated. It's integrated into some games very well, too. Nintendo has a winner on its hands. Very accessible and infinitely useful.

Tips for games, fixes for gaming glitches, opinions on which game to buy, some truly great works of art, random people with a great sense of humor and (the thing VGChartz lacks) a goddam "Like" button. It has to be experienced to be appreciated.

It sounds pretty amazing from what I've been hearing... I would never have thought Nintendo would be succeeding in the online social department, that's for sure...

In the Wii U's OS can you just launch the drawing app and save drawings? or can drawings only be added as a topic within a thread/message type deal.

You can post with a text or with your own handwriting.  A lot of people choose the handwriting option and then draw mini masterpieces.  You can't save them.  They're still just like posts in a thread.  You can find an artist you like and "follow" like Twitter, though.  That way, you can see all of their posts and keep track of their art.

I thought it would suck, and I was wrong! It's so easy to get to from any game, when you pick Miiverse, it goes straight to the thread for the game you're playing, and I'm amazed at the level of participation so early on. Kudos to Nintendo on this one!
