Forums - Nintendo - Report: GameStop Cancelling Wii U Waiting List

why don't you just say what you want to say.  call me a liar.   well too bad because it just so happens i took pictures to coincide with my black friday post where i first reported that i saw wiiU in the wild.

Target

Toys R Us

i appoligize for not taking a picture of the 2 wiiU i saw yesterday at taget (this time in the burbs of chicago) but maybe next time i will.  i don't lie, ever.  subjective matters are subjective but the number of wiiU i've seen is an outright fact.  i went to the store, i saw wiiU, fact.  I have had 3 opportunities to buy a wiiU so far provided I was willing to buy the basic and not the delux.

and while i'm at it let me remind you that superchuck is a nintendo fan first and foremost and he's seen them too.

This is off topic but I have almost 60,000 Gamestop Power Up Rewards points. You earn about 10 points for every dollar you spend on a new game and 20 points for every dollar spent on used games. There are also occasions where you can earn a little more by trading in stuff but I never do that.

I have potentially spent $6,000 (and I don't even know what time frame--I think it's been two years but it could just be one) for the ability to get a $50 gift card. This saddens me.

I think I just broke the 20,000 barrier recently. Doesn't even get me a $20 gift card yet...

You get points if you sell items though. I racked them up by trading in games and using that money to get more games. Nets you plenty of points that way while spending as little as possible.

I actually had a long post written in response to his but i decided against it. I read his post as him saying only Nintendo fan's words can be taken seriously when it comes to Wii U. So if a Nintendo fan says they are sold out everywhere, well, then it's sold out everywhere. Nothing beyond odd about Nintendo fans saying a Nintendo console sells out immediately.

Not very good behaviour for a mod if you want me to be honest. His kind of post only brings trouble, which is the one thing he shouldn't be doing. Kills any real discussion when a mod comes in and tries to discredit 2/3rds of all possible responses.

By the way, Superchunk is an Android fan. He doesn't count.

i can only speak for myself but

1 - 32 Gb is a joke.   really bad joke at that.  i'd get a minimum of 500 Gb external so 32 vs. 8 is the difference between terrible and really terrible.

2 - not my bag, don't want it at any price.

3 - meh.  i'm indifferent personally.

4 - i can get that but there aren't that many games on e-shop yet.  how much would you save if you bought the entire catalog of games?

I wasn't saying that those were good reasons for you, just good reasons for other people.

1 - I never said that 32GB were a good amount, but it is better than  8GB

2 and 3 are here just to remember that both are reasons for someone to choose, i know you are not one of them, but there are A LOT of people that would care about those reasons

4 - This goes until december 2014, not 2012. seriously you don't think this is a good deal!!!?

You asked the difference and i gave you 4, it doesn't matter if you don't care to them

and i started by saying "i can only speak for myself".  but honestly, anyone who doesn't particularly want nintendoland i think the basic is still the better deal financially speaking.  i guess i'm just surprised at how much more desirable the delux seems to be.   a 50% attach rate would be ridiculous for most games so i'm surpised half the consumers wouldn't just prefer the basic as I would.

I think it's because that extra $50 gets you a game you could sell off if you so wish, plus you get 4x the storage as well as a discount on everything purchased from the Nintendo Online Store.

I think it's 20% or something for the next year or two.

Its 10% or $5.99 per full priced game you purchase (every 10 games get a free one?) That is actually a nice deal. You also don't have to save it as you can use it as you want afaik

Yeah, 10%. Yes, you have that discount on any items purchased from now until December 2014.

It's a nice value, even though digital titles should be cheaper IMO.

This is a true statement, and it goes far beyond the borders of the VGChartz community.  Joystiq, TheVerge, and GBATemp all have a similar alignment.
