So, in about a year and a half, only 1 3rd party 3DS game has sold over a million, and only 8 have hit 500K? That's pretty bad, even if the Vita is worse.

To be fair, #1 and #3 are both Japan-only sales.  Also, it's a year and a half after launch, and not all of those games actually have been out for that period of time.  If we also compare games that sold over 1m on other platforms, there wont ACTUALLY be that many.

Is DQM going to come out in the US/Europe?  If so, it probably won't do much here.  Monste hunter might to a bit more.

Too lazy to look back at the launch year and a half for other consoles, but I feel like it would be more.  Could be wrong though.

How exactly would you check that?

Install base kills the Vita and I have a feeling that whatever Sony does about it will be too late. I'm pretty sure most third parties have jumped ship by now and even if the Vita starts a glorious comeback it would take a lot of time for third parties to release something meaningful. I don't see how Sony could keep the Vita afloat alone for a year until third parties have something to show.

Vita hardware is pretty decent but the Software is just garbage to mediocre for the most part. Maybe I'm just buying the wrong games.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

Well, we've heard about how the only games that sell on Nintendo systems are Nintendo games and how the only games that sell on Sony systems are Sony games.

What? The saying goes "Sony games don't sell on Sony systems", you fool.

Lol, wouldn't the saying "Sony games don't sell on Sony systems" be the same thing as "Sony games don't sell at all?"

No, because there's still Sony Online Entertainment.

Oh, so you can get Sony games on PC.  Okay.

Thoughts?

Not good.

Dissapointed with Bravely Defaults numbers, but Impressed by Kingdom Hearts numbers

It also sucks because there wont be as much incentive to make new series if sales do not improve for the game.  However, we still have to look at the fact that Bravely Default is Japan-only sales.  If it gets localized, it's possible numbers can jump considerably.  Hopefully, because those who have played it pretty much loved it.

not much of an explanation for Tales of Abyss' sales numbers though.  I'd like to see some of these RPGS sell better, seems like they underperform.

No matter how you slice it, 3DS sells more games than Vita.

Vita cannot compete with 3DS - it's not even close.

3DS is the better system.

3DS > Vita

You didn't even have to restrict the list to 3rd party games. The Vita has had only three games sell over 0.25m.

Though I don't think being more successful than the Vita, which is doing horribly, is necessarily a sign of great long term support.
