so I read Koenichis(sp?) thread about Sony something JUNK and it hit me!

people are afraid that Sony will lose next gen so they want Nintendo to go 3rd party so that they can save Sony's console with their massive IP's! also with Nintendo out they have less competition and the Japanese people will mostly buy the PS4 rather than a 720! if it wasn't for Nintendo this gen Sony would have won over the 360 thanks to Japan.

now if Sony's console makes no profit for a while and If Nintendo gets most 3rd party games Sony will be in danger of leaving the market!

Funny you say that. I always considered Nintendo MS's unofficial ally this generation. If it wasn't for Nintendo, the PS3 would have sold millions more in Japan. Nintendo helped stem PS3 growth in Japan, allowing 360 to exploit its gains elsewhere.

Nintendo is all right in the 360 gamers book.

You could say the same about Sony and Nintendo being allies. If it wasn't for the Wii, the 360 would have sold millions more in America, leaving the PS3 behind.

Of you could say Microsoft and Sony are allies. If it wasn't for both the 360 and the PS3, then the Wii would have probably snagged a lot more 3rd party games.

Ah but the old Nintendo/Sony fallout leading to PS1....then PS2 running Gamecube into the ground. The idea of Nintendo and Sony being allies is laughable.

Microsoft set out against Sony as its rival from day 1.Ergo my theory is correct. Nintendo MS united against a company that wronged them both in the past.

JK, the obvious answer is that most of them like Nintendo games to some degree, but not enough to justify an additional console purchase.

Perhaps they were enemies in the past, but they seem to help each other this generation.

Also, you could say Microsoft and Nintendo are enemies right now. Microsoft tried to steal Nintendo's audience with Kinect. Nintendo stole Microsoft's controller with the Pro Controller. Microsoft stole Nintendo's avatars. Microsoft tried to kill the Wii U's gamepad with Smartglass, etc. They seem like arch enemies to me.

exactly.  Honestly you should feel more insulted if the other side (and yes I'm assuming you are on the Nintendo "side" on this one) has no desire for your favorite first party publisher to go 3rd party, because it means they don't give a shit about a single game they make.  Be happy gamers in general have a consensus that Nintendo makes great games even if they aren't enough to be worth another console, if Sony goes down next gen it goes down, and I'd hope they'd become 3rd party so I could continue to get some of the great games I love from them, the same for Nintendo.  Only first party I really don't care about would be MS, but that's just a personal preference thing.
