Forums - Website Topics - VGC needs a "clean up"

I think the problem is that good topics get bumped off the main page due to spamming topics. It can't be fun seing something members took time to create and watching it get bumped off by some members trying to decide if Soriku or Rolstoppable would look better in a swimsuit (Rols you would get my vote)

People spam to get those VG$ which apparently is the hottest commodity to a few members on this site.

This also seems to be true. If the "OFF TOPIC" threads didn't appear in the "Hot Topics" on the front page it would improve the functionality of the site by a good bit.

Erm, I don't really see what the issue is.

You might not see what the issue is because you're not obsessed with your post count or how many VG$'s you have. You might want to look at it through the perspective of someone who is less secure than you about their position on the website. Make the post count and VG$ number invisible except in a persons profile and it would do wonders, IMHO.

As In real world, the money is the problem...

^ I love that song.

There's only about 4 or 5 people spamming for posts/dollars on this board out of the ton of regs, at least 2 of them have been put intheir place recently.

Honestly I don't see what the problem here is, it's not too much different from when I signed up, except that all the gballzack/Hus/Blue3/KillZone/whatever accounts aren't running wild, and leo-j is getting banned more often.

Tag - "No trolling on my watch!"

This is probably more of an issue for those of us who use the Hot Topics feature on the front page. Less than relevant threads on the Off Topic board aren't hurting anyone, but they can clutter up the list of the most recent threads if there are a lot of them.

Not sure if I'd want anything to be done about it, since it hasnt' bothered me much. There have been some ridiculous events like leo posting 300 times in a few hours, or brute posting anything at all, but I trust the mods can keep things under control.

Ioi definitely has a point with how it's a slow time of the year for gaming news, and discussion will probably get more relevant when something interesting happens.

There are the users and the posts that do need cleaning up, but if you go to many other game forums you don't have half a many intelligent posts, more then double the spam and pointless or copied threads and its ran by mods that do nothing but spam themselves, so VGC is a good community for gaming and leaving only hurts the community we already have, so you can stay and work to keep this community going or leave and let the spammers and trollers have another site to call home.
