My bad, I just got woken up after only 3 hours of sleep so I'm not a fully functioning person yet

(thinks maybe I should refrain from posting on internet until fully cognisant)

Yes, the graphics are terrible. The original God of War and Halo look better than anything on the Wii U. When will Nintendo learn?

Is it doing anything extra or is it the same as the tv upscaling the image? Why would it look like a stretched out piece of ass, Wii is already in the correct aspect ratio? (I actually set my 360 to 720p output since my tv does a cleaner job of upscaling to 1080p then my old 360)
The Wii has big pixels after the tv upscaling algorithm, nothing mysterious going on there horizontol res x 2 / vertical res x 2.
Does the WiiU add a softening filter after quadrupling the pixels?

I hate that. I like that on the 360 games they put the resolution so you can adjust it in the settings and it won't suffer from any lag or stretching.

I wonder why horizontal res x 2 & vertical res x 2 seems to work here. All of my older consoles look like shit on new TVs because they don't seem to be able to double the signal. It's always stretched and blurry at the edges although very old consoles just output some colors.

The result looks more blurry though on my projector. Letting the 360 output the game in its native res has better results for me. Not too surprising for a projector built to produce the best visuals with all input signals.

It's much different with tvs. They usually upscale in a way that produces overscan. Meaning part of the image is obscured. For example on one tv I have to zoom NFS MW down to 77% to have the borders visible when outputting in 720p.
Older consoles have even bigger problems as they output in 480i over composite video. The Wii looks great over component video cables when outputting in 480p. When I use the regular composite video connector it looks like shit on my HD tv.

Playing Wii games on WiiU over HDMI should not look any different as Wii in 480p with component video cables. Unless the tv screws it up somehow. I guess I got a good one, even my Intellivision that outputs on cable channel 3 looks perfectly sharp with great steady colors. While on the bedroom analog tv its hardly playable with interlace issues, color bleeding etc.

Good to have the option, I'll try out the upscaler when I get a WiiU.

Does it have muddy graphics or jaggies. Im not a graphics whore, but im getting irritated by articles and forums dissing WiiU and its graphical performances. Since im from England i wont be sampling WiiU delights until at least next week or beyond. So i want to hear it from the good people here on VG chartz who own WiiU, does it stand up graphically and are the reports just fanboys stirring up a bit of trouble.

Are articles really saying that? Oh and your question is a bit strange I believe you meant do the games on Wii U have muddy graphics. Well, the ports look the same or slightly better and Nintendo games look great. Also these are launch games and they are getting relatively high scores for launch titles so bear in mind that while the Wii U is nowhere near its climax, it already has games that are scoring in the 9's.

I only have NSMB U, Cod Black Ops 2, and Nintendo Land (I typed Zombie Land by accident! LOL!) and none of those games have any issues. I'm actually surprised how awesome Nintendo Land looks and plays. Online is awesome, too.

The only thing that throws my enjoyment off: Call of Duty BO1 has a 3D mode on the Xbox 360, at least. I haven't found that option for COD BO2 on the Wii U. If the other versions have it and the Wii U doens't, it's going to nag me forever!

"Online is awesome, too"  -what is awesome about the online? how is multiplayer blops2 online ?

Call of Duty sets the standard for quick online matchmaking without hiccups, from my experience.  The Wii U version keeps up with the 360 quite nicely.  No lag, no hiccups, or anything.  I was worried how Nintendo's online would hold up after some piss poor experiences on the Wii.  The Wii U is up to task.......except that nobody--not one single person I've played with--has said a single word.  No headsets, I guess.

You know, the funny thing is all you have to do is plug in a random set of head phones or ear buds into the plug and the mic would just work automatically, I'm surprised a lot of people don't know this lol.

The only reason you would get muddy graphics is if you are using an HDMI cable with an HDtv that doesn't support Limited RGB. In that case just switch to composite, it is an oversite on Nintendos part but hopefully one that will be rectified soon. And I've really seen no issue with jaggies, they are present but nothing I've played even warrents a comment, and the downscaling to the tablet looks good. I bought the Wii U because I could, I didn't pre-order, I'm not a fanboy of anything, I was at Target and it was in stock and that was an opportunity the gamer in me could not pass up. After spending some time with the console, I absolutley love it (and I really don't have any notable feelings about my PS3 or 360, maybe occasional annoyance). I highly recommend the Wii U to all, it's new, it's fresh, and it provides a fun and unique social environment.

Pjams, that is a great indorsment for WiiU, you could be the new Reggie- glad you are enjoying it, i cant wait to get my hands on one.

Have you tried this? or do you know that it works for sure? I ask because my Wii U will be getting here Monday and I would like to not purcahse a headset if I dont need to.

How do you find out if your TV supports Limited RGB because I goggled my TV specs and can't find a clear answer. Its a Samsung le32r73bd.
