Kinda weird, even with the bad press the thing is almost sold out. But I guess that always happens during a new system launch, investors have doubts.

This bit at the end really caught my eye:

"The Wii U is no more shaky at launch than the PS3 or the 360. All these machines sputter at take-off before they soar. There's potential here."

This is very true. The reason there is so much doom and gloom regarding the WiiU's future right now is simply because Nintendo is doing something unique and unproven with a console before. I'm no Nostradamus, but I believe that WiiU is going to prove to be big. Very big.

That was a pretty good article and probably a good read for anyone on the fence. There seem to be quite a few pluses and minuses, so the decision would likely come down to which matters the most to an individual person.

The battery life for the controller is the one that I really don't like. Having to keep the thing plugged in would mean having to rearrange my setup.

Those positives drastically outweigh the negatives, and its the same situation as the PS360 launch...

I agree, this is just the beginning. Wait a few months and many of these issues will be resolved. Look at 360 or PS3 now compared to what they launched with. HUGE difference.

This is actually a good write-up of WiiU as it stands today. Fortunately, there is nothing that is out of the realm of a simple update/patch.
