No dollar figures were given for MW3's first day worldwide, but it's widely reported to be 9.3 million units, which at $60 per adds up to over $550M.  Figure in some hardened editions at $100 and it's even more.

With BO2 the Hardened editions went for $80, but Care Package editions for $150, so the $500M probably translates to fewer copies per dollar than MW3.

UK gamers clearly are smart.

They waiting for the enhanced (with a few minor bugs) WiiU version to launch on 30th Nov.

Where are you getting the Black OPs 2 UK sales from?

Black Ops 2 revenue stands at $500m in its first day, while MW3 made $400m.....that makes Black OPs 2 the winner. We don't even have week 1 figures yet....

Wrong. We don't have Halo 4 first week figures, we only have an estimate that puts it "on track" to $300m first week. As far as we know it never reached $300m. So the only concrete info we have is $220m Day 1.

MW3's $400M was UK and US only (6.5 million units).  Worldwide it's reported to be 9.3 million units which at $60 per translates to over $550M.

We only have Day 1 figures for Black Ops 2, nothing more. Day 1 figures for Black Ops 2 stand at $500m according to Activision, while Modern Warfare 3 is at $400m.

Modern Warfare 3 went on to earn $775m in revenue in its first week.(Source)

The first Black OPs did $650 million in its first week....

So its safe to say that Black OPs 2 first week sales stand at anywhere from $800m-$1billion. We should get an official announcement later this week.

below Black Ops and MW2 is really a surprise. Below MW3 however doesn't really surprise me at all.

MW3 did $400 million (6.5 million units) in the US and UK alone (source).  Worldwide the unnofficial number is 9.3 million units in the first 24 hours (source).  That translates to over $550 million if you multiply 9.3 million by $60. 

Yeah I think BO2 will end up just below MW3 but sell more in the end as its a way better game...
