Now this is only working with nsmb u. If the game has dual function such as nsmbu (ie you can play with either the gamepad or wii mote) then you can turn off the gamepad and control things though the wii mote. If the game requires the pad to play, then you cannot turn off that function to play directly to your tv with the gamepad off. I dont know if that makes sense.
