No, they're both in a bad place.

Thanks for letting me correct you lol...

Well, it would be interesting to see how Nintendo is in a bad place =) personally I was refering to Sony's finacial situation. Which is the worst out of all the console makers by a long shot. But please, educate me

Quick corrections needed for this article.

1. Xbox isnt topping sales charts, PS3 on the other hand is.
It's almost as if xbox fanboys refuse to admit their console is 2nd best. Get a life, ladies lol.

2. Well let's be honest, time to accept PS3 sales as leading the pack.

As for all that wiiu stuff, yeah technically nintendo is in a very bad place. Maybe wiiu will succeed, who knows...up in the air. They have their chance.

Nono, Sony is in a very bad place =) you got them both mixed up ^^

Yeah, Ninty has a lot of money to use for funding games/consoles/etc.  Ask Sony's accountants and CEO how they're feeling about their companies financial position right now.  Profitability ensures long term success, not selling a few more consoles than the competition 6 years into the gen.  Nintendo is highly profitable, which is good because I'd like to play Mario and Zelda games in addition to the Halo's/Uncharted's for many years to come.  Xbox isn't topping sales charts?  If you're talking consoles depending on the time frame he could be right, but if you're talking game sales and actually making money, Xbox is way ahead of ps3.  They probably make over 100 million a month just on Live subscriptions.

Looking globally PS3 is a head of Xbox by quite a bit (disregarding this past Halo-week :P) Just imagine what a beast it could have been if it sold well in Japan as well...

I feel like this thread was made by Michael Pachter.

It's not a big casual hit, and it doesn't quite appeal to the bulk of core gamers so it won't be nearly as big as the Wii, and it probably won't finish first place, but that doesn't mean it'll be a failure. There's still a huge audience who'll buy it and support it for years - the Nintendo fans.

Not a big casual hit? No. won't quite appeal to the bulk of core gamers (like the wii u mention)? No, especially not when the other 2 next gen systems are out.

Nintendo fans? Is that the 20 million who bought the Gamecube? Yes. Is that the 100 million that bought Wii? No.

We'll see what's what after the Christmas Sales. Ok. What is your point? Do you disagree or are you just having trouble comprehending what I said?

I used the Circle Pad Pro on my 3DS. It felt natural in seconds. The new controller will be fine.

The only problem I think with the Wii U is that I don't consider it next gen tbh,It just feels like its playing catch-up to me. I know im gunna get users hating on me for saying that but thats just how I feel.

IF the "hardcore" are so sadly incapable of adapting to change that they can't cope with differently placed AB/X/Y buttons and analogue sticks, then my faith in today's gamers is next to exhausted.

Your rationalization is inconcise, way too early in judgement, and furthermore it seems as though you yourself have problems interpreting your own thought patterns.

To think that 80 million customers are just going to dissapear off the face of the planet is really quite a remarkable achievement in denial though, congrats.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Just like it's a remarkale achievement for the 150 million people who bought a PS2 to not by the PS3? Consumers don't just cling like that. The bulk of the 95 million or so who've bought the Wii are casual gamers, and most moved on from the Wii years ago apart from the odd Just Dance game, which they don't need a Wii U for and the Kinect is a lot more appealing to that crowd anyway. Look at the buzz around the Wii at launch, that thing was massive with the casuals. The Wii U? Most don't even really know what it is (I would bet a lot don't even know it exists)... so that's why I don't think it'll be a big casual hit.

So let's talk about core gamers then. The only core gamers that seem to be really excited about the Wii U are Nintendo fans with a few exceptions. I'm not a Nintendo fan, I am a core gamer, and I kind of want it... but "kind of want it" is about as far as I'll go, and it's farther then where most core gamers will go. They just aren't interested for the most part. They are either more than satisfied with their current HD console/PC or waiting on the other 2 next gen consoles. Hell, sometimes it feels like there's more buzz around Orbis and Durango than the Wii U and they haven't even been announced yet. The last 2 reasons why it doesn't appeal to most core gamers is hardware-wise, it's a fairly small leap over what we have already, and do you think most core gamers care about the GamePad?

Sure, I am judging pretty early on... but so what? This site is largely about speculation and predictions, and if you don't want to discuss that than don't reply to speculations and predictions.
