tbh LBP is a great platform game (and not a clone as the title would suggest) and it would deserve better sales - Mario is king because it's gameplay formula is far more polished

the reason why Sony is making a SSB style game instead of a new SMB is merely to expand into a new genre instead of competing against LBP

What else would it be about?  Obviously someone was goung to compare LBP to SMB when it was implied that Sony has not attempted to make a SMB style game.

Actually, bananaking brought it up by saying Sony already have a superior platforming game. A platforming game is not by definition a mario copy.

I suppose that you're right but as often as certain people want to say that LBP is different than Mario, they also want to compare the two and say how it's better than Mario.  It's a case of wanting to have have your cake and eat it too.  While it's true that a 2D platformer isn't by definiton a Mario copy, it is the gold standard by which others are judged and the series that really started the platforming craze.  As much as I like the Sonic, I would be disingenous if I didn't think that Sega was trying to create their own Mario and I'm pretty sure that Sony was trying to make their own Mario with Sackboy and LBP.   

Yes, but people compare all kinds of games like CS to CoD, KotoR to Mass Effect. But just because you can compare them doesn't mean the game was created as a Mario clone. To say they didn't want Mario's success would be madness for sure, but they did it in their own way, not like Mario.

I don't understand what we are disagreeing about here.  You pretty much said what I said except the cake and eating it too part.  I brought up Sonic as an example becasue while it was trying to be Sega's Mario, it was rather different.  My point is that if you are trying to distance yourself from a game that you shouldn't also compare yourself to that game.

Well more trolls today than before.

Mario galaxy today would have gotten 20s because people want attention.

LBP vita is gone hard on because really who gets attention from vita games?

Halo 4 proves that metacritic is broken if you can't see that someone giving a game like that 20 and hurting it's overall score  is crap then your blind imo.

The bolded is exactly what I was disagreeing with. I don't see what's wrong with saying LBP is different, but better in their opinion.

Once again, I am saying that you should not ask to be called different if you want to be compared.  I don't know how this doesn't make sense.
