Because if we are you know for a fact that little big planet can stand up the mario bros series and mario land series.

The music is enough to make LBP to look like a generic game.

LBP has been dying off.... Mario is alive and going strong.

Don't even bother... I gave him a list of links to major gaming sites citing SMB as one of the greatest games ever in the history of gaming, and he still didn't buy that SMB is superior. It's not that HE thinks that LBP is better, he is incisting that it's the publics view

as i said i wont go through all the hunderds of LBP reviews,thread and articles to find something like that. also SMB is a 30 year old game, even if the public perception that the SMB franchise was once better than LBP (we cant honestly say that because LBP is about 5 years old and wasnt around in the 80's) . but now the public perception is that the LBP franchise  is better than the SMB franchise. and by public perception i mean professional game reviews. did any of those major gaming sites say the same thing about SMB2 on 3DS that they said about the 30 year old SMB?

I have provided proof that the established game industry as a whole still thinks that SMB is a superior game compared to almost everything. In other words: game journalists thinks that SMB, a 30 year old game, is better than LBP. SMB>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>LBP. It doesn't matter how old the game is. After 30 years it is still superior to LBP. Fact. Logic.

please dont try to insult or offend me as i have not insulted or offended anyone in this thread. i would like to point out though that you are clearly just trying to prove that SMB is better then LBP, while my responses where to argue the point i made out while REPLYING TO THE OP. even if the SMB  franchise was better 30 years ago in professionals perception in the time being it is not. LBP has the upper hand and that is why sony didnt make another 2D platforming game, that is the simple answer to the OP's question

I don't think so. The OP asked a question and I assume he wanted an honest answer. Bananaking gave his answer and went further by saying LBP was the superior game. Honestly, what's wrong with this? DanneSandin illustrated it better. Bananaking is being deliberately obtuse. He could have said "i thought LBP was better," and then this thread would be half as long, if that.

You're right about bananaking having the right to his opinion, but people have the right to state that they prefer Mario to LBP to him.  If I went into a thread and said that I thought that Avatar was better than the original Star Wars that would be my right, but it would be the right of others to say that I was wrong as long as they did so respectfully.


I agree with everything except for that last word. I saw a lot of disrespect actually, espescially in the beginning of this thread. The meme gifs of people laughing, literally calling his opinion laughable, people saying LBP sucks, and someone even said BananaKing was trying to undermine Nintendo, or something like that.

Conclusion:

Playstation owners don't care for a game like LBP.

Solution:

Put those games in a Nintendo platform (no pun intended). That way they can achieve the sales its quality deserves.

If I insulted you, I am sorry. It's just frustrating that you won't acknowledge the fact that professionals STILL thinks that SMB is the better game. With the links I gave you it's painfully clear that professionals still thinks that that game is better/superior to LBP. It's never gonna change. Just admit that it's YOUR opinion that LBP is superior, because I have showed you that the professionals thinks that SMB is better, even though 30 years have past. In 30 more years SMB will still be better thab LBP. You're avoiding what logic and facts I provide, and therefore I post a brick wall.

From the looks of it, it's the other way around. The OP asked a question and the guy answered.

This was his original post "its because Sony has a superior 2D platforming game, its called littlebigplanet" 

The response? First, people responded by saying sales = quality, therefore LBP was inferior. Then, people responded with meme gifs as if his opinion was absurd and not be taken seriously. Then, Samuship was the first to claim Mario was the superior game, so of course, Bananaking used more support with Metacritic scores (which he later edited in his first post).

After Bananaking responded to that post, it's been everyone jumping on him.

I'm not gonna go back and read this whole thread again, so I'll have to take your word for it.

So you're basically saying LBP is a SMB clone. Have you even played the game?? It's like comparing Gran Turismo to NFS: Hot Pursuit
