45- Mega Man 2 (NES)

44- Silent Hill 4: The Room (PS2)

43- Valkyria Chronicles (PS3)

42- Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition (PS3)

39- a not so popular JRPG in the U.S.
Hint- this new installment of the franchise introduced 3 new main characters.

37- Hint-The most recent release of this long time running Arcade franchise (I believe). Not so popular now, but it was a phenomon that took the world by storm... well maybe not the world, but Japan for sure.

#12 - Theme Hospital (PS1)

As guessed by Milkyjoe (I think!)

Theme Hospital was a game I stumbled across thanks to a demo disk.  My parents didn't want to buy it for me because they thought it looks stupid, but I insisted and here it is all these years later inside my top 12 games of all time!

Theme Hospital perfectly mixed the micromanagement nature of Bullfrog's earlier work in Theme Park with some absolutely wicked black humour (reading through the descriptions of all the diseases, especially first time around, is hilarious).  The setting is perfectly chosen and through the campaign's levels you really get to feel like you're running a successful (or perhaps not!) hospital.  Firing staff, keeping doctors and nurses apart, researching cures, fixing machinery... it may actually sound kinda dull when you list it, but as a whole game Theme Hospital is second to none in its genre and still holds up fantastically today.

Clue for my #11 - "You are not prepared" was supposed to be the finale of this awesome expansion pack, but wasn't. Soul crushingly addictive.

Question for everyone in-thread: What is the game in your top 50 with the lowest metacritic score? Or, if it comes from before the days of metacritic, what game was widely regarded as mediocre or poor by others?

The lowest-ranked game on my list is Yoshi's Story.

As for your question, it seems I like critically acclaimed games a lot. I think my lowest ranked game is Max Payne on the PS2 with 80 but that's mainly because the PS2 version is inferior to the PC version.
