This just in, crime rates drop by 99% in Colorado.

This is why I love living in Washington. Gay marriage will be legalized and marijuana is legalized. There are definitely some perks in living in a liberal state. Though it will be interesting to see how enforcement will work since components of marijuana are similar to those in alcohol AND can stay in the body for 7 days. So you could technically get a DUI if you're driving after drinking a little bit of alcohol but you smoked weed excessively 5 days ago.

whoa, no way.

Edit:  If its no longer illegal, can employers still fire you/deny employment if you have it in your system?

They can fire you if you come to work cained, just like they can fire you if you come to work holding a bottle of whisky and have the hickups.

Right, but what I'm saying is, if a person were to smoke on a Saturday, they will most likely still fail a drug test on Tuesday even though they come to work sober.

I would expect that will now change as it would be discrimination legally.

Legal or not i'm still smoking it.

Shifting views probably due to the massive presence of medical marijuana retailers here already. It creates a lot of tax money. People also just accept it as being safer than alcohol and it is pretty widely used for cheap here. Colorado is a unique state in terms of the amount of MJ used and how it is so accepted in many places.

I'm PSwii60, and I approve this message.

I told my roommate the news and first thing he did was run outside and start smoking it openly. I'll let him find out on his own that the laws haven't changed yet lol. BTW washington did it to.
