How can Square-Enix report a loss?? Incredible..
I guess it's because of the MASSIVE ressources that were invested in fixing FFXIV. They're still bleeding from that.
Pretty damn good sales for a game that was cancelled. As for reporting loss by SE. It could be because game budgets are just getting ridiculous. That is one place Wii U is going to shine in the upcoming generation as production costs won't jump 10 fold.

They reported the major causes were
1 - Sluggish arcade gaming
2 - One major HD game selling slow.

Lies.
Every projects were pushed back because of FFXIV and at some point 200 people were working on the 2.0 version.
They don't want us to know.
1.5m isn't awful, but not great either given the lengthy development cycle... Probably not enough to get a sequel given that it needed more even more money to be a great game

The loss is over 6 months, but you are right, no mention of FFXIV anywhere in that earnings report.
I have the game. It's a pretty fun game,not a mind-blown game,but not a bad one.
