- it will be on the big 3 current gen systems as well as next gen platforms (only sony and M$, as well as pc)

Tough luck WiiU...

In reality, if it doesn't come on WiiU its solely due to the issue EA and Nintendo had with Origin. Which seems stupid as there is no way MS/Sony allowed Origin within their networks either. However, EA likes money and will certainly have this on any platform it technically can.

- BF4 has a 1yr development cycle and has a tenative launch date of oct 23rd 2013

That doesn't sound very promising. And doubt the game will look too different to BF3 on the current gen consoles, the 60%-80% will porbably only be visible on the the next-gen systems.

...or they just didn't think the market was suitable.

Last E3 Dice said BF was coming. COD on a very down-ported Wii version sells a million each cycle. I'm not saying its not possible you're right, but the only real reason would be spite from EA and the Origin issue.

Still playing on a PC game that is unoptimized on an upoptimized new engine at the time. PCs require far greater specs than consoles. They are not very good comparisons when looking at differences in raw power and end result. WiiU may likely be less powerful than your PC, but that has no bearing on the final output of a game that has been optimized to run on its hardware.

Unoptimized? It was pretty much designed for PC, and with the latest graphics cards in mind. That was BF3 which supposedly only used 30-40% of the engine's potential, while this one will use 80%. If Nintendo can't even get NSMBU to run at 30 FPS, or Bioware, or Ubisoft...how would Dice with a much more graphically impressive game?

PC games are unoptimized. They are ran on a nearly infinite number of hardware options with tons of other OS stuff going on.

Consoles are one specific version and highly optimized for that hardware.

These first run games on Wii U are just that.... first run games. Jesus how quickly people forgot what 360 first run games looked like. btw, WiiU's first run games are 60FPS, not sure what you're talking about. Its the 1080p vs 720p is the only difference.

It was called a "current gen" (aka 7th gen) platform. Poor WiiU... This is going to continue the trend the Wii started, I see.

you can define "generation" any way that makes you feel warm and fuzzy about yourself... but if you think in this context of this statement that BF4 is coming to wii but not to wii U...  you mad.  take all the offense you want but i'll take that as confirmation that BF4 is coming to wiiU.

What he meant is that they (EA) does not consider, that by the time PS4 and X720 releases, the WiiU to be a current gen console.  They will consider it a previous gen console like the PS3 and 360.

Er, I don't classify generations in a way to make myself feel warm and fuzzy, nor did I mean to express that I took any form of offense at the comment. I was merely poking fun at the fact that EA called it a current gen console and how it feels like it's going to be a repeat of the Wii.

omg... why is this turning into a WiiU vs curr/nex/weak/etc fanboy argument thread?

Just note that BF4 is coming next holiday with three main factions, consoles finally get very much the same or similar PC BF experience and it will improve the utilization of the DICE engine.
