I agree with most of your sentiments, especially about Thor. I find him cheap and a silly addition into the Marvel Universe. All the other characters at least protend to be original(although many are based on Norse and Greek Gods).

I don't agree with Robin, or at least think you should specify WHICH Robin....there were 3(4 if you count that one girl,5 if you count Bruce's merderous son). The original being Dick Grayson, I find him to be one of the best elements in the Batman Universe. If you have ever seen Dexter, Batman and Robin's relationship is basically the template of him. Robin was Bruce's apprentice, to continue his legacy. Dick is the first and to my knowledge only side kick to ever split from their master and become his own. Nightwing kicks major ass!Batman thought Dick to be a failed attempt to embody everything he beleived in but during the "Battle of the Cowls" after Bruce's death Grayson proved to be the most devote of Batman's entourage, dawning the mask himself.

Okay, I have very little knowledge of the comics. I, like most people here, am basing this on popular media facts.

Dick Grayson from the animated movie was pretty cool, and Jason Todd was also pretty fantastic.

I guess Robin is only lame on the most popular portraits, as I have seen he (she?) tends to be cool in the comics (not to mention, most of them suffer tragic deaths)

Nolan will make Superman cool, don't worry.

- Green Lantern looks like a cheap Christmas decoration.

- I think Thor is one of the lamest heroes ever.

- Robin is a clown.

- Normally, women tend to be incredibly useless.

Christopher Nolan is no longer directing Superman.  He helped write it but he bailed out because he wanted to focus on Batman.  It is being directed by Zack Snyder, the guy who directed 300 I'm pretty sure.

I believe you replied to the wrong person lol

It would have to be a tie between Aquaman and Robin. Robin only has a cellphone.

I can understand that. The Pixified Robin is hard for people to relate to in certain media. That might be all some people know of him. There are two great extremes in the Robin mythos: Dick Grayson becoming the prodigy Batman always dreamed of, then Jason Todd becoming a warped reality of what Batman stood for, but just as good as Bruce.

There are also two entries into the Batman Universe that MADE Robin such a great mythos. First I would say if you ever get the chance, please read Battle of the Cowls, it will blow your mind. Every Robin, every side kick, even a few enemies show up to fight over who deserves to continue Batman's daring legacy. Complete chaos is going on in the world because all the villains know he is dead. You have a few of the good guys running around in varying batman outfits, fighting bad guys, and each other battle royale style. The ending leads to a pretty insiteful Batman arch where Dick Grayson is THE Batman, and Damien Wayne becomes his Robin(he struggles with the concept of respecting Dick as a leader and also with NOT killing his enemies lol).

Second, Watch the animation "Batman: Under the RedHood",.......EPIC!!!!! Batman's greatest failure comes back to haunt him in a very big way and he tests the lengths of Batman's moral code.

PS Off Topic.

I really hope the next Batman Game introduces the Red Hood. Red Hood is now seen as the greatest villain in the Batman continuity since the Joker. Hes on a whole nother level of batshit crazy lol.

^ I've always preferred Freeze to The Joker.

The whole movie deserves to be watched, not just the fight.  It would go a long way to giving people the information they lack about why Superman is the greatest hero of all.

It is a tie between Superman and The Hulk, in the DC and Marvel Universes respectfully. Why? Because they are too powerful to be the slightest bit interesting, at least to me. Superman gets a heavily fabricated opposition, in random thugs robbing banks and the like. He easily dispatches them except for when they pull out some handy dandy kryptonite. He then struggles for several pages/frames simply trying to get over mentral cramps that render him useless momentarily. Yet, he always bounces back and unscathed. Superman has not sufferered or evolved as a hero since his comics began.

The Hulk is far worst, no enemy ever stands before him. The angrier he gets, the stronger he becomes. Unstoppable monstrosity who rarely goes through anything other than his anger issues. They create entire comic books just so writers can fap off to just how unscathable he is. Tiresome and boring to me.

Both of these "superheroes" remind me of when I played with toys, or roleplayed games with my brother. You see, I always took to characters that struggled and earned their right to be called extraordinary. My brother on the other hand was obsessed with being top dog, if I said my character has "Power A" he would instantaneously make his character have "Power B" to my character's flaws. These charcters are the type of thing that come up from a "One Up-er" mentality where their only claim to fame is that they are indeed stronger and more powerful than whatever the rest came up with.

Who are the best? Ironically, Batman and Spiderman. I have always been drawn to these heroes for one main reason. They struggle, not just with one problem, but with several at a time. They win, but they also lose quite often(as the good guys usually do in real life). You are forced to recognize their plight as a hero, knowing that their abilities are very finite in the grand scheme of things and will not solve every problem for them. Batman is the boldest of them all. The writers have written some monumental failures and successes in Batman's life that leaves a strong impression. For instance, when the 2nd Robin was kidnapped and beaten to death by The Joker. Batman felt failure on a level he had never before. He had experienced it slightly with his inability to keep TwoFace from going to the dark side, but this time he let someone who trusted him entirely, a kid no less, down. I love how Batman almost suffers from Sociopathic tendencies, if you haven't noticed Dexter is based on the same concept. He rarely feels for anyone or anything, yet they craft something in their lives that keep them grounded and adhere to them with complete loyalty, even if it means losing everything. Spidey and Bats both live in a believable world where social issues frequently conflict with their other persona. Spidey has common ones such as trying to court the love of his life yet keep her at a safe distance at the same time.

I just love how B and S are human in nature, vulnerable. Which turns to be the exact reason why I hate Hulk and Superman.

Solid, well-written post, and very much how I feel.  Spider-man and Batman, in my opinion, are the two best comic heroes ever created.  They are human, they struggle constantly with issues that are easily relatable.  Superman, on the other hand, is a virtual god, which does not interest me in the slightest, and the Hulk's endless strength and rage make him a childish construct who has some of the most boring fights ever applied to paper.  Superman, to me, feels so fake, so sanctimonious and impossible on every level, that I just plain don't like him.

The answer is obviously Aquaman. I know that he rules over 75% of the the world (water), but whatever...
