The DS1 and DS2 maybe. I don't like the marshmallow L2/R2 buttons on the DS3.

| Andrespetmonkey said: Make it a little more "shapely" (some beef around the grips), concave analogs in the same position, Vita style D-Pad, Xbox 360 style triggers. 10% larger than DS3 overall. Add a new slider with 3 settings below an analog or on the side just as extra input (could be used in an FPS to change firing modes, for example). And of course minimise dead zones in the analogs, make sure it's super responsive and it has a long battery life (at least 10 hours, rechargeable). |
This! ^^^
all it needs is to be bigger and have triggers. then vuala .....perfect

Larger controller. Its to small. Also move the left analog stick to the prime position rather than have the Dpad tere which I barely use. Change the triggers, they are ok but nothing compared to competiton. The rigt analog placement is fine. As is the face buttons.
DS is old design and feels it now. Not ergonomical enough as it is.
^ No keep the Dpad where it belongs, Its prefect for fighting games.
Bet with gooch_destroyer, he wins if FFX and FFX-2 will be at $40 each for the vita. I win if it dont

In Japan it's done exactly as it should be. Some games in the US also do it the right way. Blame the devs, not SONY.
EDIT: Also, I really don't see how shapes can be harder to remember than letters. I think it's easier if anything.
4 ≈ One
Make a transforming controller, so it can go from regular, to wane (w/ Move 2.0), to gun, to tablet.

Tell me why X, which is the universal sign for "no," is considered "yes" on the dualshock? And why is circle, the universal "yes," considered "no" on the dualshock? |
Circle universal "yes"? Where do you live? Japan?? WTF!?
Just leave the controller as it is. The L2/R2 buttons are fine I don't know what kind of hands some of you people have to complain about them lol. Also whoever said for Sony to change their button signs (Circle, Square etc) should really not even be touching a PlayStation controller if the only thing they have to complain about is the sign. They have been using them since the beginning of the PS1 days why the hell would they change them. If you have that much of a problem with shapes as the signs for the buttons then go play a different console. Such a lame critique.
