Pachter predicts that Nintendo will never reclaim the glory that it once never had.

how do you know they lost them? I thought 3DS was selling more than DS at this point in its life

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

The problem with the Wii was that while it got off to a ridiculously strong start and attracted lots of both casual and core players, the lack of a constant stream of AAA titles, 3rd party support and lack of HD graphics made most hop overboard.

It's in Nintendo's hands once again. At least this time, they have one less obstacle to tackle (HD graphics), so I'm quite confident they will deliver.

I don't think so. Here in Mexico they'll sell the wii u for 550 dollars. That's too much. And I was one of those who had a wii day one. I was planning on getting the wii u too but i guess i'll wait a couple of months.

1   2   3  not only you and me.

Livin' in sin is the new thing.

The correct answer!!
"Possibly. We will see. It depends on several things."
And now you all know.

That remains to be seen. I kind of wish that they could do that.

I don't think they can, they seem to be aiming somewhere in the middle and might end up falling short on both ends, especially when the competition arrives in full.
If there's a wildcard in the 8th generation, an Apple of Samsung console for instance, I think the casuals will be eaten alive by those.
Nintendo is in a tricky position right now, they need to adapt to the modern market all the while maintaining their focus and unique style.
But if anyone can pull if off, its them, they've been at it for around three decades.

No.

Hope this helps.

The so-called 'core' audience (or the closest thing nintendo has had to one in the past)are still more likely to pick up a wii u than the fickle casual crowd though, cause they tend to care more about things like new hardware/new NINTENDO hardware/ new iterations of their favourite franchises etc than the common folk.
I'm a lifelong nintendo fanboy, wasn't exactlyblown away by the wii and still I've got my wii u preordered...cos that's what we do...

The variable future success of the Wii U has nothing to do with the question of whether or not Nintendo has "lost" the "casual" crowd.

Regardless, I don't see anything "fickle" about the incomparably consistent blockbuster sales of games with "Super Mario Bros." in their titles.
