Mario 3D World was not 7th Gen though. It's 8th Gen, because it's on Wii U.

Do any of those games have a >90 meta? If you look at the top 5, most of those games throughout the years have over 90 meta score (usually top 3 atleast). I only know one of the top of my head and thats Dark Souls 2.

I dunno, I generally think this year was fucking dreadful in terms of games atleast so far. The only reason 7th is even remotely relevant is because 8 hasn't really started. But you can still see the support for 7 getting less and less (most are multis, exclusives coming for 8th). It's just not that interesting imo.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 (360: 70pts. of 22 critics/ PS3: 63pts. of 55 critics)
South Park: The Stick of Truth (PS3: 85pts. of 31 critics/ 360: 82pts. of 33 critics)
Dark Souls 2 (360: 92pts. of 29 critics / PS3: 91pts. of 69 critics)

Man, I'm really impressed with how little number of critics the 360 versions had... it's almost ever reviewed for about 1/3 to 1/2 of the amount the PS3 versions got, so we can see why the overral higher numbers...
But yeah, only DS 2 got over 90pts. (and on both versions)

Yeah.. nuff zaid!

But as Dark Souls 2 did over 90 pts it can't really be off the goty games can it?
Also the othergames are great too, this critics don't do justice to them at all (maybe only lightning returns for not beind needed ).

Perhaps but it doesnt mean 7th is "relevant".

Mario 3D world is in this list despite being an 8th gen game. I suppose theres a chance Dark Souls will be in the next gen GOTY list despite being a 7th gen only game.

I was right 7 and a half years ago when i decided to give SONY my money and buy a PS3, they have always suplied a great amount of exclusive new ips and great returning exclusive franchises every generation. Demons Souls alone was a great reason to get the system

GTA IV doesn't deserve to be mentioned. This game is average, at the best. Most overrated game ever.

Yeah, although some of the multiplats were timed exclusives on the 360 like Mass Effect.

Adding 2006 & 2007 there are +3 for Wii U exclusives, +2 MS Exclusives (Bioshock also timed exclusive)
