Forums - Nintendo - Could ZombiU could be a very important game for Nintendo?

ZombieU might just be the most over hyped game to come from Nintendo Lets be honest if this game was released on ps3 or xbox the Nintendo fanboy would be scream oh look another survival shooter. It's the same kind of game Ninty fanboys have been makeing fun of Xbox and ps3 gamers for playing in the past. I'm sick of hearing about it. it may or not be a good game when it finally arrives, but it's nothing ground breaking so lets give it a rest already.

Normally i would agree with you, except for the fact that ZombiU is actually a damn survival game, unlike its endless companions (on any platform, really).

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Looked up the studio that's deving it, Ubsisoft Montpellier. They made Rayman origins, a solid platformer but nowhere near the complexity of a full-blown third person action game. They also made From Dust which recieved okay reviews, but is ultimately only a downloadable game, hardly as big as a AAA relese. There other projects include a universally panned TinTin game. In addition they're also working on Beyond Good and Evil 2, which has turned into a huge fiasco, it was announced in 2008 and has now switched to next-gen concsoles. So not only is the studio's track record not that great, they are also working on a next-gen project and trying to rush ZombiU out to hit the WiiU launch date.

You could say that the fate of core 3rd party games will be shaped by ZombieU, Bayonetta 2 and probably 2-3 other core AAA games that the Wii U will get soon. I think that it only matters that these games sell moderately well. In my oppinion Wii U is destined to be getting a little upgraded ports of PS360 games for now, and a little downgraded ports of PS4/Xbox8 games in the future. All that these first core games have to do is create enough of an audience to convince 3rd parties that ports to Wii U are profitable. Cause let's face it, the time of 3rd party exclusive is gone now. Wii U won't be getting any new 3rd party exclusives a year after it's launch.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

There's absolutely no doubt in my mind that ZombiU is going to be a ridiculous success. It should sell over a million before Christmas, you can bet your bottom dollar that both Ubisoft and Nintendo themselves are going to market the shit out of this game. This is going to be one of the select titles that Nintendo are going to match the publisher's marketing budgets to promte the game. It's going to sell an absolute shitload imo.

It would change a lot of things for Wii U if this game is actually great and is also a big hit.

As in more than 2 million WW. Then it would be a game changer. Nintendo's not had a 2 million+ seller worldwide that's an M-rated game probably since Mortal Kombat 2 on the SNES almost twenty years ago.

MS and Sony have one of these like every 3-4 months.

having a big third party exclusive is always important. If zombiU turns out to be a success, (quality and sales wise) I could see third parties (capcom and ubisoft most likely) giving a big WiiU exclusive and probably sequels. (Something a la Gears with the 360)

"Another" survival horror?

They are almost no real (quality) survival horror games these days. Resident Evil has become Gears of Duty, Dead Space is on its way there, and Silent Hill has turned to crap. That's why Zombiu looks promising; it's one of the only real survival horror game in some time that actually looks good.

Also, did a Nintendo fan diss your mother  or steal your lunch money or something?

Soundwave
Complete Resident evil series? hello?

Actually my mom is dead, and I pack my own lunch.

I was walking down along the street and I heard this voice saying, "Good evening, Mr. Dowd." Well, I turned around and here was this big six-foot rabbit leaning up against a lamp-post. Well, I thought nothing of that because when you've lived in a town as long as I've lived in this one, you get used to the fact that everybody knows your name.

Its a hugely important game.

That being said Ubisoft better deliver quality. If the game bombs on reviews it could severly impact sales with early adopters.
