That would be a French spelling of Liter. Also that is in Canadian dollars, which are worth more than a US dollar.

If that profit of .09 cents indicates the profit of the gas station then I believe it to be correct. I; however, have a very hard time believing that the refineries get that low of porfit margine. I'm not even going to mention the petrolium corporations that sell the barrels at the world market price--to the highest bidder.

It is the gas station owners profit margin. The picture is misleading, the bulk of the money goes to the oil industry. My family owned a gas station, gas is essentially used as a means to get people in the door to purchase other things. Highest profit margin items are grocery, drinks, then beer/wine/liquor.

I'm sorry but America should have to pay the petrol rates, us Europeans are expected to pay.

£1.40 a litre x $1.60 (exchange rate between £ and $) x a US gallon (3.8 litres i think)

That would be $2.25 a litre, so $8.55 a gallon. Not fair at all, when Americans pay only $3.50 on average per gallon. Not only that, they use the most petrol out of anyone in the world per capita. The price gap in petrol prices between countries needs to be smaller, it's to wide now.

Finally, I doubt Obama has anything to do with it either.
