By the way is anyone else really looking forward to when they unveil the zombie side of the game? Don't get me wrong the survivor side sounds like it could easily compete for best co-op gameplay ever but I have to admit I find a strange allure in being the asshole who rips someone off the helicopter right before they escape ...yes yes I know I'm a bastard =P

No, i'll want to spend 80% of my time as the zombies quite honestly.  I perfer having my goal not be stay alive but cause as much trouble as you can before you go down.

This has now become a buy for me for this year. Can't wait!

Oh man I'm gonna have so much fun with the Hunter and Smoker...

Man, if I need to upgrade my PC just for that game I will do it in a heartbeat. Crysis isn't a good enough reason to do so, but this sure sounds like it will be.

Just curious but what are your PC specs?  If you have anything remotely modern you should be able to find settings that produce something playable.  If you have something recent you will probably be able to max it out =P

Anything 8800 G__ will laugh off most of these games.  Partly due to the age of the engine, but also because of great optimization by valve and really getting the most out of the hardware whenver they can.

I hate zombie games and I can't wait for this.

I don't care about the setting really. The bad guys could be fluffy rabbits for all I care. I just love the basic gameplay so much: it's a co-op game where you really need to cooperate. In most co-op games, it really plays out like 2/3/4 people who are technically on the same team, but for all intents and purposes they play like single players that just so happen to be next to each other.

The idea of actually building an entire game around co-operative play, and making it so that cooperating really is an essential component of the game, rather than the usual "you can cooperate if you want to, but really, let's just blow crap up together," is a wonderful evolution.

Oh man, and is coming in the same month of my b-day... ahhhhhhhhhhh, me wants....

By me:

Made with Blender + LuxRender
"Since you can´t understand ... there is no point to taking you seriously."

So what part is everyone more excited for? Being the hunters or the hunted? It looks like they offer two very different play styles--one where you're constantly in fear and one where you're making life hell for others.

Personally, I'm looking forward more to the survivors, but I can't friggin' wait to be a Smoker. I've always wanted to be the one where that snatches the loner away from the group of survivors

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

I got my PC a little over a year ago I think and it's got

1 gig ram

2.8 GHZ dual core processor

Nvidia GeForce 7300

It's no powerhouse, but I can run modern games like bioshock, and COD4 just fine on it (never even tried the crysis demo for fear of my computer exploding with enough force to take out half a city block). It could use an overhaul though. My graphics card might as well have cobwebs on it, and it seems like 2 gigs at least is necessary to get really good performance out of anything.

You can find me on facebook as Markus Van Rijn, if you friend me just mention you're from VGchartz and who you are here.

You're really not far from a very nice rig as it is.  In 6 months you'll be looking at $175-$200 (possibly less depending on new offerings) for a nice video card that should absolutely blow L4D out of the water and probably $40-50 for 2GB of DDR2 800.
