Just curious but what are your PC specs? If you have anything remotely modern you should be able to find settings that produce something playable. If you have something recent you will probably be able to max it out =P

 

Anything 8800 G__ will laugh off most of these games. Partly due to the age of the engine, but also because of great optimization by valve and really getting the most out of the hardware whenver they can.

I got my PC a little over a year ago I think and it's got

1 gig ram

2.8 GHZ dual core processor

Nvidia GeForce 7300

It's no powerhouse, but I can run modern games like bioshock, and COD4 just fine on it (never even tried the crysis demo for fear of my computer exploding with enough force to take out half a city block). It could use an overhaul though. My graphics card might as well have cobwebs on it, and it seems like 2 gigs at least is necessary to get really good performance out of anything.
