Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Why the Wii U gamepad design should be more like Vita

This thread actually makes me feel better about the Wii U.

Why?? Aren't you worried he is partly right, that the controller will feel awkward and uncomfy and stuff?

Two years in the making and Nintendo couldn't please the average joe.

Talk about disappointment..

I really like the Gamepad. The shoulder buttons are positioned very nicely so that you can easily grip the controller with one finger on each of the four buttons. The second analog stick placement really makes shooting games better. Reaching the sides of the screen for touch commands like in Mass Effect 3 is fairly easy. Reaching the center of the screen (like in Pikmin Adventure) was the only thing that didn't feel completely comfortable. But overall, it's really nice.

Screw you people for not making the obvious responce to the OP:

I got to use the gamepad this morning at the canadian wii U tour, I completly disagree with this thread. The gamepad is light, fits very comfortably in to your hands and the touchscreen is very responsive. It took me a BIG 5 minutes to get used to the gamepad, you were probably too lasy to even try it for more then 5 minutes or you are just another anti-nintendo troll trying to prove something.

Yes it is light and very responsive as I said before. The screen looked really good to. However it sure didn't feel good.

I find the vita quite uncomfortable. The sticks are so low on the device. Really looking forward to the wii U gamepad.

If you can rest your fingers in the Vitas depressions you must have baby hands. The Vita is really comfortbale when the rear touch is turned off and you can grip the whole thing, but when the rear touch is on and you have to avoid all the space it is a crampfest.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

are you really comparing it to the Vita?
i havent tried the WiiU gamepad, but i would be really disappointed if the U pad was worst than the Vita, those stupidly tiny analogs are really uncomfortable

I don't what it feels like to use, but it's no big deal .

Just buy this with your Wii U, you can still play all games with this controller

Prediction: Switch will sell better than Wii U Lifetime Sales by Jan 1st 2018

If it isn't like the PSVita then it does have to be good...
