Forums - General - 'Apple-like' lines for Microsofts new tablet

You forgot the one in Times Square!

There is no doubt this will be a hot item throughout the holidays. And knowing Microsoft, they'll probably throw in a nice Black Friday / Cyber Monday deal to keep the momentum going.

I think this will do OK in the US and nowhere else. I imagine the US is being blitzed by Win8 marketing as well. It's got the tech but no software, much like certain video game consoles.

Passive agressive shot at the 360?

Because 360 has more 70-79, 80-89, and 90+ games on metacritic then PS3, not sure about the Wii.  Just saying.

I think he's talking about the Vita. No need to be so defensive lol

Looks promising but I still think it's only the hardcore fans getting one, and that Microsoft has no future in the tablet market.

I hope the next Xbox gets these kind of lines.

While I still think the price is too high, that's good news. It could mean RT and windows store gets a lot of support from devs making it a true competitor as time moves on.

A real third competitor in mobile market will only be a good thing for everyone else.

MS got a lot of experience dealing with Halo midnight launches, they can handle this no sweat :)

I didn't even know there were Microsoft Stores 0.0.

Why?  I'd love to hear a rational explanation for that rather than it being based on some biased viewpoint.  Every logical thought process says they do have a future.

First, because it's always very hard to enter into a competitive market with already established players. The pad market is already bloated.

Second, because Apple is extremely popular and is dominating the premium segment. Apple is something we've seldom witnessed in history, a brand and a product that almost everyone wants, which therefore makes the market extremely difficult for other players by default.

Third because Microsoft seldom are able to compete with price. There's always an Acer, Samsung or HTC who is able to sell similar products for cheaper to the customer with a small budget.

Four, because people are already satisfied with Apple OS and Android. While a good OS, the Metro system is redundant.

Five, because MS has a very bad reputation. It's not perceived as cool to have a product with MS in it. Most consumers are afraid they will be seen as nerds if they show a MS product to their friends.

Microsoft Stores seem to be pretty popular!

Now with W8, Surface, Wp8, Kinect and Xbox this holidays it will be crowded.
