It sold out 2 weeks ago. So likely actual consumers.

Beautiful interface and hardware. But too pricey.

IPAD doesnt have USB port. And it doesnt come with Office 2013 wich is much better than what apps available for productivity offer. Also to have a keyboard on Ipad I have to charge it seperately and carry it seperately. Also my Xbox controller will work with the RT. Finally RT comes with desktop Internet explorer meaning no more sorry cant play on this device you get on Ipad or Android tablets. |
Yeah, it's a scandal that ipad doesn't have USB. But speaking of USB ports, the Windows Surface should have more than one measly port.
Also, are you listing features on the iPad 3 or iPad 4? Perhaps iPad 4 will have a good keyboard and other features.

This level of denial is astounding.
Here is an interesting quote from another Verge artice:
http://www.theverge.com/2012/10/26/3558354/microsoft-surface-launch-new-york
"I spoke to one couple who remarked that they had held back on a tablet purchase due to a lack of Office. I thought nothing of it until I started speaking to more people. Perhaps surprisingly, Office was a big factor for people's interest in Surface with some mentioning that they couldn't live without it for work."

Speaking of 3. But unless Ipad 4 has a similar built in Keyboard/cover its just not gonna matter. Having to carry a seperate device wich needs seperate charging is not great for on the go. Microsoft really nailed that 1 as far as tablets go.
It amazed me when I looked at early hands on that RT also came with actual IE full desktop edition alongside its Metro IE brother. Which instantly makes IPAD and Android tablet surfing options far less than RT. I didnt know this previously until I saw it in a review.
IPAD 4 needs to change alot imo to remotely be close to RT out of the box. Because in 12 months with the amount of Windows 8 licenses sold, apps will be growing out the sides of the RT framework. Devs wont and cant ignore what will be the largest userbase for apps ever seen. What after 2 years 600,000 Windows 8 sold, all versions having access to the same Windows marketplace.

That is HUGE right there. There is even an update available for IE 10's Flash player for Surface. And then people want to argue that the iPad is somehow comparable to this?
I forgot to ask, did you buy one and are waiting to unbox it, or are you waiting to see an unboxing online?
If you've gotten your hands on the keyboards yet, which one is your favorite? I felt like the thicker one would be nicer since the flat keyboard would feel weird to type on with no buttons.

Yeah, those look good.

Real tough decision for me, either wait for the dopeness of Surface PRO, or go with this combo
