VGC sucks for putting in videos.

I went to the Microsoft store in Times Square this morning and it was packed. I could barely walk! It's been packed since the store opened at 12 midnight. These things are seriously selling like hotcakes (at least here in NYC).

Here is a link to some of last nights mayhem:

It looks slick, but so do probably all the other pads out there.

I don't understand what the hell Windows RT as OS means for the consumer. It bothers me that you don't get the real Windows 7 or 8 with it.

Also, con't you get an Ipad for the same 500 dollars? Or is ipad more expensive?

That could be viral marketers who get it for free in exchange for lining up in a midnight que though.

When I'm looking to upgrade my current laptop I'm going to be looking very closely at the Surface. Isn't there a pro version that runs the "real" windows 8 and provides a full PC experience?

Yeah, for nearly 1000 dollars.

Without making it IPAD vs RT.

IPAD doesnt have USB port. And it doesnt come with Office 2013 wich is much better than what apps available for productivity offer. Also to have a keyboard on Ipad I have to charge it seperately and carry it seperately. Also my Xbox controller will work with the RT. Finally RT comes with desktop Internet explorer meaning no more sorry cant play on this device you get on Ipad or Android tablets.
