H3 was 2007, Reach was 2010, and Halo 4 was 2012. The main entries have spaced out and are all 90+ metacritic. COD is every year and suffered in quality. Kinda ignorant post you got there.  Sounds like you want them off because they are associated with 360 and/or benefit 360 the most.

I've been saying this for a while. I like God of War but they're milking it for sure. Yes you can compare it to Halo now that they have 6 Halo games, 5 of them which is mainline. The thing is, Halo has a huge universe and a big back story that they can work with it. Mass Effect and Metal Gear Solid I would also put in the same boat as Halo, because once again they have such a diverse big story that they can work with. God of War on the other hand is just about some angry dude wanting to kill the gods(Not bashing God of War, it's a great series). Now that he has killed the gods how can they continue it besides doing a prequel. We don't even know if he died or not in the 3rd but we already know his story. What else can be told?

Be honest, did you just say halo because it's a xbox exclusive? Halo is not a yearly release and has a 90+ metacritic every time.  It has a huge world and a huge backstory.  They could make 10 halo games and it would make sense.  Call of Duty should take a break. They should keep making Uncharted in my opinion, amazing series and they could continue his story easily. As I said before, Kratos doesn't have any story left to tell. 

As other people said, they could take on other mytholigies. Theres only been one GOW game this gen (2 when Ascension comes out) and that's definetly not milking the franchise. Not to mention that the GOW PSP games were mainly developed by Ready at Dawn and not Santa Monica (though they did help). Plus did you see the ending of GOW III? Who knows what hese going to do next but as long as they can think up of a good story then why the hell not make GOW 4. Franchises that are milked clearly suffer from quality, something that the GOW series does not lack in. All have 92+ on metacritic (not including PSP games). 

I didn't say Santa Monica is milking it, I'm talking about sony.  The even brought the PSP games to PS3.  Anyways, yes take on different mythologies, but then it wouldn't be God of War.  Personally I'd like to see Santa Monica do something else and give God of War a break.  They're a great company so I'd like to see what they can do just like I'm curious to see what Bungie can do without Halo.  God of War is a great series but I just can't see how they can continue it with Kratos as the protagonist.  If you take him out of the game then it's not God of War.  He just doesn't have enough of a back story to continue it in my opinion. 

umm guys..to all of you who are complaining about santa monica not doing another new game...they ARE. They haven't revealed it yet so I'm guessing it's PS4. It's a new IP too iirc.

The one you are talking about is the game that Stig Asmussen is working on right? Cause David Jaffe said that Stig was working on "cool stuff", and hese not doing GOW Ascension.

yep as rider said it's made by Stig, who was the guy behind GOW3. I'm really excited to see how that turns out

@Rider: yep and Stig himself admitted this year in a pre-E3 interview. He said he was working on it real hard and doesn't sound like he took much of a break after GOW3..so chances are w/e the game is it's gonna be a big one

I'm talking about Kratos.  he is the God of War.  Without kratos you don't have god of war now do you?

And if you disagree I would love to hear where they could possibly go with his story?  We know everything already.  He killed the gods and died (possibly).  So even if he is alive where do you go with it.  What type of prequels could they make?  Give me a reason
