World's first Hitman: Absolution Xbox 360 review - 9/10 in the new OXM

Tucked within the meaty folds of OXM issue 92 you'll find the world's first review of Hitman: Absolution on Xbox 360 - a triumph of stealth and sandbox design that retains "everything that fans have ever loved about the series", but delivers those features with "beguiling flexibility". There is a big, reassuring number at the end of that review, and that number is exactly one point less than 10. Sweet.

Wannabe balding killer Matt praised the game as "slick, thrilling and well paced with jet-black humour", singling out its user-driven Contracts feature and diversity of mission types. "Absolution genuinely makes you feel like the most dangerous man in the world," he observes at one point. We haven't dared turn our backs on him since the copy went to press.

There's plenty more in issue 92, which hits the slopes on Friday 26th October (subscribers are getting their copies now). Among other masterstrokes of sofa-based journalism, you'll read coverage of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, Lost Planet 3 and Sacred 3 alongside deep-delving guides to Black Ops 2 and Halo 4. Don't miss, and stay pumped for the release of Hitman: Absolution itself on 20th November.

OP is updated with scans of the OPM review!

when's metacritic sending in their score? IGN as well? I would rely on those scores.

With the demise of Splinter Cell as a stealth series, it's up to Hitman and MGS to keep the genre alive. It's good to see that they're both doing a great job of it.

MGS4 was the biggest disappointment I played this generation.

As for Conviction I loved it. Hitman also was brilliant last time out.

Really looking forward to the new Splinter Cell.

Am I the only one really creeped out by this?

he has giant ass head and hands

That is the most absurd opinion ever. MGS 4 more disappointing than conviction, no way. Conviction was the greatest joke of a stealth game, whereas MGS 4 had plenty of stealth elements + story as well which can be a disappointment only if compared to it's predecessors.

That's interesting, I feel exactly the opposite.

I loved MGS4, though the stealth did get a little bit simplistic towards the end with the whole "you're invisible!" thing whenever you lie on the ground. But I thought Conviction was a complete betrayal of the series, and Chaos Theory was one of my favourite games of all time. I even enjoyed Double Agent, which most people seem to dislike intensely, because it was still the same style of game, at least.

Blood Money was absolutely fantastic, even though it wasn't terribly deep, so I have very high hopes for Absolution.

Well he needs the giant head for his enormous brain, the giant hands to hold that enormously oversized Silverballer, and the giant ass for... never mind.
