Do you have to play the older games to understand the story?

Unfortunately its coming at the wrong time. Will busy with Forza Horizon and Halo 4.

Will pick up the game though somewhere down the road.

Just because it's Jay520 doesn't mean that this isn't the GOTY. Name one game that is better than Hitman: Absolution. You can't do it, can you? Every big game has failed to live up to the hype. Mass Effect 3, Resident Evil 6, New Super Mario Bros. 2. All good games but none of them have that "it factor". I'm sorry but Hitman is the new WWE Champion.

Anywho this have a good chance to be my PS3 GOTY, and I'm only judging it using past games because i didn't watch a single

gameplay video.

I'm assuming they'll give you a summary of the story seeing that it's been a while since the last game and to get

new people into the series.

Story isn't Hitman driving force & while playing past games is definitely recommended to understand the story and

the game ideas. It's not mandatory & shouldn't hinder you from enjoying this one imo.

You make a vaild point, this year has been ripe with upsets. I would say Borderlands 2 has lived up to expectations though (throughly enjoying the game at the moment, although I wouldn't say it's quite GOTY matieral) and we've still got some big holiday titles to come.

Personally I've been looking forward to this new hitman for too long. I'm hoping it's truly a high note in what's been a great series so far.

Even if you're right, Far Cry 3 can still pull a Montreal screwjob in December.

Guess itll be one of those overlooked gems this holiday

I guarantee Halo 4 picks it up and shaves te skin off to get rid of his barcode.

Dont get me wrong, I'll pick up Hitman next christmas. After Ive played Halo 4 for 12 months.
