I'm skeptical... Producing the WiiU without selling a single one will reflect on their financials. I'll rather wait for their yearly report...

I think they were expecting a little more from NSMB2 relative to how the previous ones did.
Our beloved friend Michael Pachter believes Nintendo will suffer another loss in Q2 (http://wallstcheatsheet.com/stocks/nintendo-earnings-preview-deep-stock-analysis.html/). Q1, Michael Pachter's predictions were off as Nintendo posted a lower loss. Will we see Nintendo will be in the positive? Let's hope so

Selling at the same rate as the DS isn't mediocre at all, its clearly on track to becoming the highest selling platform this gen and maybe the highest selling handheld of all time.
Probably going to be in the red thanks to producing the WiiU for its release. After that nothing but smooth sailing.
Nintendo posts a 125 million loss this quarter. A total of 350 million for 6 months in 2012, compared to 875 million loss for 6 months in 2011. Nintendo is expecting profit for the full year. (http://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/pdf/2012/121024e.pdf)
This was expected: producing the WiiU can't be cheap. I expect a loss next quarter as well - or a small profit, and that Q4 will turn it around for Nintendo.

well its improving. but what would happen to Nintendo if they kept loosing money? if the Wii U doesn't sell, will they go the way of sega, or drop out of video games completely?
