Looks really boring and generic although can't confirm that until I have played it. F.E.A.R was the only game that gave an creepy felling while playing everything else is just an action game with horror elements

You play horror games on PC?

No, I only play PC games when I'm over my friends house since he likes to boast about having a beast machine. I usually give him recommendations on games he should try out, and to be honest I really don't see the leaps and bounds PC players brag about in graphic fidelity there is a noticeable difference sure but not on the level that it is hyped up to be.

A huge difference actually.  A lot of games are just ports but games that are built for PC are the ones that shine.  Try Battlefield 3, Crysis, Metro 2033, or The Witcher on PC.

PC games are at the moment up to 25x as powerful as consoles.  I posted a link below of what PC is capable of in Cryengine 3

I remember when that trailer first came out. And to complement your example, here's Crysis with photoreal mod:

No console will be running that anytime soon.

Yeah my friend sent me that video before haha  Consoles really are holding PC back.  It always makes me laugh when I start reading about all these console wars, I'm just sitting over here thinking "Really?  Still fighting over your 7 year old technology haha"

Don't worry Chris Roberts is here to save us http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=148527

OT: looks ok I guess, considering the telent involved I was hoping for a bit more I guess. One of these days I should start learning how to make games, I have had this idea for a horror game floating arround in my head for a while, where it would be seccond person view. You would play as a young guy who would have to protect his 12 year old half sister, the twist being he has to protect her from evil enteties that only she could see. But as the AI for that would be too hard I would just make it forced co-op,  a co-op horror game where one player would be able to see the enemies but not be able to fight back but must communicate over voice chat with the player who can't see what they are fighting.

haha yeah that game looks interesting haha The thing I dont understand is how is it a sim if they haven't drove anything like it?  There was an hour long interview about this game, i didnt watch it and it probably explained it haha

Developing games I've heard is a real pain but if you're interested in it definitely go for it man :)  The game you explained sounds a lot like ICO which is a great game so that's not a bad thing.  Just take the ideas you have and keep working with them until you make them work.  Christopher Nolan's "Inception" took him 10 years to write it because he had to figure out how to make it work and looks at how successful that became.

Just came back to say that even Fallout 3 is more scary than STALKER.

you sound like someone who hasn't fought off multiple Snorks with only a pistol in a thunderstorm at night.

Besides the issue that Fallout 3 isn't scary at all, comparing it to any S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game is pointless. When I said the AI was more "terrifying", it wasn't to say the game was "scary" per se, but that you have those moments when you really feel outnumbered and defeated.

STALKER is one of the few games i have played where every fight was hard. The enemies are great, they have good weapons and armor like you do and are usually grouped up so you have to figure out a way to split them up or take them by suprise. I remeber ammo being scarce too. I really liked STALKER i need to finish the series.
