Interesting article. I've been saying the same about the next Xbox for a while now.

As for Wii, it's true, a $20 price cut will not boost sales of a dead system with (virtually) no games coming out and no hype or marketing for it whatsoever.

The sales of the Wii will be interesting this holiday (in a bad way), although I'm "concerned" about the people who will buy a Wii thinking it's the Wii U.

I think you're right.  There is always a subset of the market which values price over anything else.  Casuals looking for a console or people looking to buy a first gaming system for children will probably pick the Wii based on price.

There are also going to be the kids who put "Wii U" on their Christmas list buy end up with a Wii after their parents compare the prices of the two systems.

This just in. The Wii's successor launches in a month, who cares what the Wii is doing from here on out. Wii won, get over it.

Just need Just Dance 5 for those damn casuals!  Put is a packin 3rd party game and watch the system take off into the stratosphere!

Yes, graphs make it totally legit.  Who would have thought that the price cut to 150 wouldn't result in more increased more sales than it previously had?  Sure, I expected a bump but it is pretty damn hard to sell the Wii at launch levels midway through its cycle.  System is not dead.  It just needs marketed in previously neglected markets (aka the poor markets).

With a 99 dollars price, I think it could do even better.
