I think you're right. There is always a subset of the market which values price over anything else. Casuals looking for a console or people looking to buy a first gaming system for children will probably pick the Wii based on price.
There are also going to be the kids who put "Wii U" on their Christmas list buy end up with a Wii after their parents compare the prices of the two systems.
