Forums - Sales - Global HW & USA/UK SW up! (13th October)

This might be the last week that PS3 out sells 360. The price cut should make things close until COD/Halo effect of course.

Not so fast! 12 gig PS3 launched in Europe last week. So any drop off from this week should be null, it might even increase.

Once Halo 4 launches, if 360 isn't winning by then, it will for the rest of the year....

I think global RE6 numbers will be quite good.

Not bad... wonder what AC week will do to sales.

i just realized that the uk hardware market is bigger as the us-american gaming market per capita, was that always like this?

Pretty equal aren't they?

if wiki is correct with population, usa should have 322,714 hardware sales this week to be equal but it only has 225,471

I was going off lifetime sales to date.  Also, with reagrd to current weekly sales numbers, 'm not convinced the tracking of Europe is too accurate at the moment. I find it hard to believe the recession isn't affecting hardware sales more.

Well conventional wisdom was that video gaming was recession proof. When reality is going to shit people like to consume escapist experiences. There's nothing so escapist as losing yourself in the virtual world of a video game. And even when unemployment is at 10% it still means 90% of people are employed. Basket case Europe (i.e. 25% unemployed Spain et al) is a bit of a different thing.

Good PS3 and 3DS numbers. If Vita gets PSP sales then its number will look nice.

comparint first weeks in the US:

USA
Sorcery 28,939
Fable the Journey 28,702

so basically the same. i don't get how Move and Kinect do sell 10,000,000 hardware units but nobody cares about its games. i consider them dead, both move and kinect.

must-have-list for platforms i don't own yet:

WiiU: Donkey Kong

XBone: Dead Rising 3, Ryse

That must be similar to what most third party developers must have thought about the WII. The overall install base is not always a good measure for potential sales figures

so ps3 holding up well with sslim and games, all getting boosts soon

i wonder what the vita will sell like over the holidays
