Is it really so bad that it's good?

No. The parts that are bad (that is, all the gameplay) are just plain bad. But the story is cool and the characters are unforgettable, and the good far outweighs the bad IMO.

Sounds like it's right up my alley.

Not on the same level I know, but I remember Nier getting all these bad reviews talking about not knowing what it wanted to be, the gameplay being iffy, yadda yadda. I played it and was like "WHOA!". I fucking loved that game. Voice acting and story were really good. Oh yeah, the music was good too.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

It's strange you should say that. Although they're pretty different games, I find them to be appealing in the same sort of way. Both have very moving stories, and they're definitely two of the experiences I will remember mostly vividly from this generation.

And man, the music in Nier was fucking unbelievable. I keep that OST on pretty heavy rotation. Deadly Premonition is no slouch in the music department, either. It has some great Angelo Badalamenti-esque stuff, which really drives home all the more just how Twin Peaks-y it all is.

I wonder if they're going to implement Move support like they'd talked about. That would be hilariously bad.

Dude. Prepare and stir the coffee. WITH MOVE CONTROLS.

I hear ya, Nier was special.

Never played Twin Peaks, but you keep mentioning it. Time to do some research I guess.

It's a TV show from the early '90s. The best one evarrr.

I love you

OT: They mention HD like it's a new feature...why?

Because the Director's Cut is in 1080p. I'm not sure what the original was, but it was pretty low.

I love you, too.
