Forums - Nintendo - North American 3rd Party Wii sales.

There is so much talk about Wii 3rd party sales, I am not trying to make a statement on whether it is worth it or not for Publishers and Developer have motivation to make Wii games.  I am putting these numbers here to show what third party games have sold well in N.A.; many did not do as well as there 360 or PS2 counter parts.  Depending on how much it cost to produce these games would shed more light on profitablity.

I will say that 3rd parties will continue to support Wii in one way or another.  Hardcore gamers may or may not like what comes out, but these companies are more concerned with profit then whether anybodies happy.

One thing I have been asking but have yet to see an answer from anyone who complains about third party Wii game sales is ...

Is there any game that has been released for the Wii which would have sold so much better on the XBox 360 or PS3 to justify the greater development cost?

I could be wrong but I don't believe there are any games which meet this criteria which means that Third party publishers should be focusing their efforts to producing and marketing better games for the Wii.

well put

 umm cooking Mama....duh!!

Lets not bring logic into these threads now. Its better when people say third party games (or even games in general) don't sell on the Wii, that goes to you happy and the OP as well.

P.s And Resident evil, GH should not be included in that list they are anomalies, plus red steel and RRR were launch titles.

MBBB was a launch title too

I don't understand what companies are doing. They are complaining that 3rd parties don't sell, then when it does, they don't make any improvements.

Take ubisoft for example: They claim that stuff don't sell well, and look, NONE of they're upcoming games are for the wii, other than Red steel II. None of my favorite franchises are there. Where's the Tom clancy's? Where's the prince of persia's? Not on the wii, that's for sure.

And Eidos? They say, oh, no wii version. And then they announce one, that's ported from the PS2 version. Seriously, What's with all these PS2 ports? It seems that all the Mulitplatform games on the wii are also on the PS2. Ghostbusters, TNA impact. Sadly, im assuming they are also ported from the PS2, which is the dumbest decision ive ever heard.

At least factor 5 understands:
They say "oh look at the puny gamecube 1.5", then they make a bad game(Lair) that bombs. And now what are they doing? They crawling back to Nintendo.

I'd love tom clancy on the wii. Hopefully by the time they get Unreal engine 3 up and running, publishers can knock some sense into themselves.

Support Wii 3rd parties. Buy NO MORE HEROES!

Carnival Games sells almost as much as Madden?? Groan...

Dude Madden sucks.  I'd rather have Carnival games.  Besides Madden is a causal game of the highest order.

3rd parties need to start making their quality games for Wii and they will be pleasantly surprised. Give us AAA titles and we will buy them.
