Forums - Nintendo - The Wii U Version of Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth Won’t Force You to Move Your Arms and Legs

Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth is coming to both the Wii U and Xbox 360, and today, new control method details were revealed at the New York Comic Con.

The Xbox 360 version of the game is wholly motion-controlled using the Kinect motion sensor control, and the lack of any other less active control scheme on that platform will leave some gamers in a quandary.

However, the Wii U version of the game won’t force you to “exert” yourself. Instead, the title will feature multiple control schemes, enabling you to get on your feet and into the fight, or more relaxed on the couch.

One of the detailed control schemes is the trendy Wii Remote and Nunchuk combo. By pressing buttons and acting out certain gestures, a player can control one of the Marvel characters in the fight. The other control method concerned the Wii U gamepad, in which the player controls a character using the gamepad’s touchscreen. Supposedly, every action that can be performed with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk can be performed using the gamepad.

Even with these new details, we still don’t know if these controls will work the same for single player, and whether or not motion controls will ever be necessary.

playable only with the touchscreen? so it's like a smartphone game for 360 and wii u or what (with nunchuk controls or kinect if you want, depends which you buy). or could you use the normal gamepad and the touchscreen would be only for some moves or whatever?

The Wii Remote/Nuchuck combo sounds best to be.

Another multiplatform title that's better on Wii U. Hmmm... Nintendo should steal that slogan.
