I did not compare any games. And I understand that there are games that will do very well on the Wii, what I simply want to know is if the sales of Wii can be affected by games on the other consoles, or if the two markets are so different that they don't coincide enough to really make that much of a dent. I do not want to compare games or talk about NMH (which appears to be a great game and one reason I intend to get a wii, whether or not it sells well is immaterial to me)

Only if they are new IPs or expected IPS.  Those who are "hardcore" already know at least vaguely what to expect from each system and already have their minds made up on that.  Those hardcore who buy a wii do so not in ignorance of the PS3 or 360s lineup.  They just perfer the Wii's hardcore library or are multiplatform gamers.

For example if Sony stole a Wii only hardcore exclusive it would steal wii hardware sales.  Though consider it's selling out these numbers would not come to bear untill way down the road, likely past that games release date until after Wii stops selling out.

The only sales that will be stolen by popular hardcore games are casual gamers.  Who are amusingly the people who make hardcore gamers successful.

Square-Enix would bleed money for development costs if it were to go on PS3. Just look how long and much FFXIII is going for on PS3. It's like a double-edged sword or like the Pokemon, "Rampardos," trying to use Head Smash (base damage of 150; Rampardos has a 165 base attack stat), which would be SUICIDE if used; it would give a 50% recoil to it. If the game doesn't sell well, it's going to cost Square-Enix DEARLY and they could file bankruptcy. The FFXIII series is a big budget game.

That's an impressive Pokemon analogy, but could you put it units of Libraries of Congress/mole?

As for numbers of "hardcore" vs. "casual" gamers - whoever can trot out actual numbers with sell through data, showing demographics, sex, and approximate percent error, this whole thing is a wank fest. You can look at it and tell that there is probably a sizable chunk of casuals, as well as a fairly sizable chunk of "hardcore" gamers. Actual percentages though are 84.343211332% absurd.

Well, i think the problem was shown in making comparisons like that in Nintendos data for Japan they had like 3-6 months ago. There had way more users per household then the PS3 or 360.

In other words, the Hardcore gamer played it... but so did his casual roommates, girlfriend, parents, little sisters what have you.

So it's entirely possible that the majority of people who purchase wii's are hardcore players, yet the majority of people who play the wii are casuals. Who may infact purchase their own software to play. Which does seem to be the case looking at the software numbers.

I wonder, what fans want ff vii the most..

playstation fans?(which every ps3 owner has been begging for a remake)

or

nintendo fans?(which is made up of 70% casual gamers(wii))

How about FFVII fans?

They apply to the first category :)

Nah, i'd guess a lot of em have Wii's too.  I mean PS1 did sell a lot.

The ending after ff7 CC starts the beginning of FF7 - to be continued. That was on the PSP. The tech demo of ff7 was made on the ps3... therefore all those hints are saying ff7 remake - ps3 :D

  Unleash The Beast!

End of 2011 Sales: Wii = 90mil, 360 = 61mil, PS3= 60mil

^but was the tech demo ever finished?

If a remake exists.  Of course, you've got all sorts of factors after that though.  The "to be continued part" just refrences a remake. (though does not gurantee one... but what FF hasn't been remade!)

The only part that suggests it will be on PS3 is the Tech Demo however... that was made back when everyone thought the PS3 was going to be PS2 HD.

So while all signs point to it being on PS3, if it exists... i wouldn't get my hopes up too much.

Then again maybe Lighting looks like cCoud so much so they could remove the boobs and change her outfit to use "him" as Cloud's model for the remake!

^yeah your right, anyways i think its time the ps FF start to be remade

why would square remake a PS1 game that will look like a PS1 game?
Square actually cares about the graphics on its FF games.

^cool i might save that pic

Didn't Square said that there is no FFVII remake for PS3 plan because it would take a lot of time to make it?
