But what bothered me the most was this tid bit:

"While in seventh grade, Todd joined friends via webcams to meet and talk with new people. She was complimented with such terms as "stunning", "beautiful", and "perfect"."

Obviously 7th grade, Web cam....seriously? I know anyone at any age could use it but still if its for casual talk (not sure why you would use it for casual talk) but I know why she did use it and it was poor decision on her end.

Could just have easily have been Uno on Xbox Live using the Xbox Live Vision Camera or a Kinect/PS Eye Video chat.  It's too easy to do these days.

I looked at her youtube page which is still up. Before her death, she apparently watched this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DgRa_wl7-jY&feature=plcp Which seems to be an obvious inspiration. She asked the maker of the video to "Inbox Me".

Just troubles me how this was able to escalate to such a degree.

Say Lewis, didn't you beat up your friend at school together with 10 other kids? How is he doing now?

I imagine he's pretty fucked up.  Saw him a while back working in a grocery store.  I was in the sixth grade and I still feel bad about that.  I'm pretty sure I made that clear when I posted it in the thread about "What do you regret".  I regret it.

"I'm struggling to stay in this world, because everything just touches me so deeply. I'm not doing this for attention. I'm doing this to be an inspiration and to show that I can be strong. I did things to myself to make pain go away, because I'd rather hurt myself then someone else. Haters are haters but please don't hate, although im sure I'll get them. I hope I can show you guys that everyone has a story, and everyones future will be bright one day, you just gotta pull through. I'm still here aren't I ?"

Those are her own words from her video. Seems like she was trying. Just didn't make it.

Surely we don't have the whole story behind why everyone disliked her like that?? You can't just hate someone because she flashed her boobs. That doesn't make sense.

I was about to say the same, it's really nonsensical to people hate a girl only because she flashed her boobs, but then again kids nowadays tend to hate each other and can be rather cruel.

Poor girl, she didn't deserve all the hate she got, she was used as a scapegoat for everyone troubles

Thats a very stupid reason to kill yourself, and she seemed like an attention whore, I don't feel sorry for dumb people.

Reminds me of this girl who randomly found me on AIM years ago and used to alternate between sending me pictures of herself in her altogether and pictures of herself cutting herself. She was pretty annoying, and I never encouraged her in any way. I never even fapped to those pictures, and now she could be dead. The guilt is sometimes crippling, but I manage to go on by telling myself that I have to stay alive and fap to as many girls as possible, for tomorrow they may die.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Its so sad to think that some stupid trolls could have such an effect on a young girls live to drive her to suicide. So tragic and such a waste of a young life.

Hindsight is 20/20

It sucks that this happened. Because the man blackmailed her a year later to get more it is pretty obviously his fault. This kind of pervert is shockingly common and systematically gets naked pictures of under aged girls. Amanda was defiantly not his first or last victim. This freak knows which strings to pull through years of trial and error. After obtaining the first picture the criminal using basic hacks obtains information about the girl; her address, name, family, and friends. In this case the pervert threatened to post the picture because he thought it was most likely to succeed. In other cases he may have threatened to kill her family or set her house on fire. Luckily Amanda was stronger this time around and didn't give in to his demands. If she did things could have quickly escalated to weekly shows until either she found help or was protected/warned by a different online hacker (they don't all agree with each other).

After that things just went downhill for Amanda. Sure she knew what she was doing was wrong but depression caused her to do it anyway. This video is incredibly tragic for not only Amanda's life but the thousands of other victims we never hear of.

For everyone saying "if only I knew about this video last week", remember Amanda isn't alone. Watch all of the other videos like this on YouTube and help save a life.
