Windows 7 is not only the fastest selling version of windows ever destroying Windows XP by hitting 500 million 4 months faster, but has now over 1 billion official licenses. Thats now over 1/7th of the estimated world population. Thats 93% of the TOTAL OS market which includes all IOS and Android. Just so you know.

You're not going to win by spewing bullshit, Selnor. The latest numbers I've seen for Windows 7 are 600 million units back in June:

Where's your source for MS selling 400 million licenses in four months?

Working back to Windows 7's launch suggests average sales of 19 million copies per month over the operating system's life. Apple is currently selling 17 million iOS and Mac OS devices per month (as of Apple's last quarterly financials), and Google claims to see 40 million Android activations in a month. So you see why I say a side bet on all sales of Windows 8, Windows RT, and WIndows Phone 8 versus iOS and Mac OS would be interesting.

Double or nothing?

And yes double.

Dude, you are citing web usage stats for a single site. Web usage is important, but it sure isn't the same thing as units sold. We are going to base this bet on units sold from financial statements and/or reputable market analysts like Gartner and Canalys.

I'll also mention that this data point completely contradicts your earlier assertion that Windows controls 93% of the OS market, and does nothing to support your assertion that there are a billion Windows 7 licenses out there.

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

An iPad mini.....I would lol if it was just an iPhone with 'iPad' written on the back.

"Information about operating system share is difficult to obtain, since in most of the categories below there are no reliable primary sources or methodology for its collection"

Net Applications has estimated global desktop market share of Windows 92.2%, Apple 6.36%, Linux 1.41%

As of June 2011, ~29 million iPads sold - This is pretty poor actually. I expected IOS mobile much more influential than I thought. Desktops and netbooks are still killing Iphone and Ipad.

Congratulations, Apples, you have officially made the most senseless product in the history of electronics. No mean feat, if I may say so.
The iPad is silly in itself but a sane human being in the world could ever dare to defend the existence of this product, something between the iPad and the iPhone/iPod, a smaller branch of the very thing wedged ludicrously and needlessly between the iPhone and iMac?!?! What the hell?

Apple has sold 84 million iPads since they were introduced including a record 17 million last quarter. Tim Cook talked about it at the iPhone 5 keynote in September.

Silly? Really? Well I used to think the same actually until I got one. I use my ipad all the time and completely stopped using my laptop (MacBook Air). I now use my desktop (i7 2600k, gtx 580 sli, 16gb, win7) for gaming or my ipad. I ended up giving my MBA to my sister as the iPad took completely took over for it.

i just need to wait until my carrier enables tethering on my iPhone 5,(will happen around the start of the new year) so I can use my iPad even more away from home.

Edit: BTW if anybody was interested in how the rumored iPad mini will stack up against other 7" tablets and the iPad in screen real estate.

Gosh, do we really need this childish attitude?

Areym, Chevinator123, Selnor and Mummelmann, you all have been reported.

OT: Fantastic news, I might get it this on Christmas if the price is good.

LOL Why are Apple fans so sensitive? People say Sony fans are bad (The same people). I'll stick to my Windows based devices when it comes to laptops/desktop/notebook as they are better value for money and provide me with real world usage.
