I personally think it looks fantastic because of the visual style of the game/series, design of the armors, monsters, city, setting, etc... to me its simply one of the best in the world.

In the end I love not caring much about what textures a system can pull or can't.

It's HD 3DS game with updated textures, not a ground-up Wii U title. People like it's visuals because they like seeing Monster Hunter's awesome monster and armour/weapon designs in HD, not because it's pushing the system. 

looks like shit, but still keeping my pre-order anyways :P

I wasn't too impressed by the graphics but I can see how this game could pretty much guarantee Wii U dominance in Japan. I'm gonna get the 3DS game since I've never played any of the games in the series. Who knows? It could make me a believer.

The MH series is great.  The only problem is that these games take up A LOT of time.  It's definitely not a pick up and play game either.
