It's going to by itself in the market for a whole year, PS4 and 720 will need a hell of a gimmick to catch up.

PS3 and X360 don't count anymore? Lots of multiplats and exclusives coming next year for the HD twins.

I'm pretty sure at least that Sonys overall ps3 line up for 2013 will overshadow the Wii U's.

Im pretty sure the WiiU's exclusives outshined the Ps3's line up this year.

You mean next year :p

In terms of exclusives I'm sure the Wii U will outshine all but add the 3rd party titles which are coming to ps3 and haven't yet been announced for the Wii U: Tomb Raider, DMC, Bioshock, MGS, GTA V to Sony's already strong line up: God of War, Last of Us, Beyond: 2 souls, Puppeteer and I think sony has the overall lead.

I'm expecting the Wii U current line up (most of which were once launch titles) to be stretched out till summer. I think either the Wonderful 100 or Pikimin 3 will be delayed till summer, alongside Wii Fit U. Theres no reason to release so many titles in Q1. Rayman, Monster Hunter and one of the above will be enough. I think we'll only see 2 new titles arriving in the later half, probably Mario Kart and something else (nintendogs U, Animal Crossing, Mario Party?)

I think 2014 will be their really strong year with Retro's Title, Super smash bros U, a new 3D mario, Beyonetta 2, something orginal and A Zelda reveal.

Plenty of those titles could come to the WiiU, what you have heard so far is just the launch line up. Not much from what they have for April and beyond. Please don't speculate, you will be more pessimistic and I will be more optimsissitic.

So tell me, why is Ubisoft giving such huge Wii U support but not Watch Dogs?

Might it be that Ubisoft Montreal is putting all their Wii U development effort into Assassin's Creed III?    Might it be that the game engine hasn't been ported to Wii U yet?

“Not at this time. We have so many titles in development for Wii U right now that we need to keep that team focused and this is a very very ambitious game. But it’s not out of the question.”
-Ubisoft

As you can see, I'm offering cirucmstances just as plausible as you are which are also backed up by some of the actual developers.  Why do you continue to insist that only the negative circumstances are plausible?  You assume way too damn much with claims like they would outsource if they wanted it.  Outsource it to whom that has the game engine ported over to Wii U and enough readily avaiable dev kits and resources lying around not already working on soemthing to take on the job?

It is plausible they can't port it over due to lack of resources etc, but I'd rather stick to my assumption that if a massive company like Ubisoft really wanted to port the game to Wii U then they would. Regardless of the reason their absense puts the Wii U in bad place in regards to 3rd party support, this is the only point I care to make.

So they are already heavily supporting Wii U, they even have a big exclusive at launch, their Montreal executive says it's possible but they've already put their focus on other consoles but could still happen and you conclude that means Wii U 3rd party support is in a bad place.

I just wanted to make sure we got that straight.

Remove Ubisoft/watchdogs from the equation and my arguement still stands and Nintendo still have little to no strong 3rd party support next year and there are a ton of big 3rd party games coming out. Tomb raider, Devil May Cry, Metal Gear Solid Revengeance, MGS:ground zero, Bioshock, Final Fantasy: Lightning returns and Star Wars.

Ubisoft like treyarch supported nintendo last gen,  I'm not concerned with one specific company or more the general behaviour of 3rd party. But if you feel confident in the support the Wii U has announced for 2013 then thats fine or equally if you expect all the above to be announced for the system then that too is fine. I don't have that confidence and so I consider the system to be in a very unclear position at the moment.

You yourself are speculating at what titles may/may not come to system. The fact is they're not announced and if we're looking purely at what has been announced then there is no clear winner. We do not know what either company's will reveal for the 2nd half of 2013, I personally prefer to speculate and I wasn't being pesimistic, just realist. Wish such a small Userbase it will be a mistake for Nintendo to have so many exclusives launched so close together. Anyways here are all the confirmed titles.

Wii U: Pikmin 3, Wonderful 101, Rayman legends

PS3: God of War, The last of Us, Pupeteer, beyond 2 souls.

I'll believe it when I see it, show that you can do it and I'll buy your system.

Damnit! You made me think Millenium came back!

I thought he was Millenium...?

He is!

Just found out.

Not big at all. All of the cotent for the whole game is on each one of the 3 discs aside from the CGI and the sound libary for FF7 was like 800 KB. I'd give it the benefit of the doubt and say 50 MB. People have no idea how much storage video and audio take up.

That's what I thought. The whole world, which should have been the bulk of the data, was on all three discs anyway. I'm still wondering where all that data from Resident Evil 2 went, from 1.4GB down to 64mb.

No clear winner according to YOU. You were very far from realistic, you were naming a very PESSIMISTIC line -up.

Super NES was very succesful

The SNES sold less than the NES, and was nowhere near as dominant.

When the combined sales of the competition in that OTHER market doesn't amount to 120M+ sales, then we'll talk about small ball.

Kna'' mean?

Not really, to be honest.

So what? It still was very succesful and was more powerful than the Mega Drive.

So generally a business wants to do better, not worse, as it goes along, especially if it expanded into new markets.

Its an unfair comparison, NES had a lot more time in the market and not really a lot of competition. The point is that not always the most powerful console loses the consoles wars as shown by the Super NES.
