[NDS] Pokemon Platinum - 2,577,280
[NDS] Pokemon Black 2 / White 2 - 2.764.919

LTD sales

And the game keeps on rolling!

Platinum was a remake. B/W2 is a sequel. Totally different, you can't compare the two.

And we can compare a spinoff game in a new system with a main game on  a system that has a fanbase for the main game to say that the new system is not a gamers system. Brilliant. You don't like the 3DS, we get it.

I have a 3DS and I like it. Fire Emblem is one of my favorite games this year btw. It's just how I interpret the market, I may be wrong and you are free not to share my analysis. 3DS is fine really, it has some brilliant titles (I mentioned Fire Emblem, Prof. Layton vs Attorney is coming in a few weeks and I'm really excited about it), but it remains too mario-centric and doesn't get as many interesting games I thought it would. But again, it's just my personal appreciation.

I haven't played much of RE:R apart from the demo, but the only thing not mainline about it is that it doesn't have a number in the title. Other than that it's pretty much the same RE I played in REmake and RE4.

Well, if it's not numbered it's a spinoff or side-game. That's the law.

PS3 and Resident Evil both underperformed compared to my predictions... but I think I was led by the COMG crew... 70k PS3 was a real stretch. Even though not 800k, still a respectable number for RE. The expectative is if will reach a million or not, but I think it can!

Yikes at Vita! Sub 8k
Next weel is bound to be the new low...?

3DS 65k, still great!... next week is one of my most anticipated weeks of the year... new blue 3DS, Project X-Zone and Bravely Default

C'mon Vicviper. It did great whether it didn't meet your expectation or not. You can't deny that mate. It didn't underperform. Selling twice it's predeccesor.

Reading comprehension ain't what it used to be.

I keep telling you guys, Dreamcast's ghost is having it's revenge on Vita!

Me from 10-years ago gives you +1 for this, but it should be "revenge on PlayStation®" to make it more bittersweet.

It may be a spin-off in name, but not a spin-off in substance. Soooooo, its sales should reflect that fact and be much much higher. Kindsa like ... wait for it... Code Veronica! *You don't say*

Just because it's technically a mainline game, doesn't mean the fanbase of the series will buy it, considering the platform it's on.

Coming from the guy who just one hour ago used a sales comparison between a mainline game and a spinoff as justification for why the 3DS isn't attracting gamers.

Btw, the Vita userbase is mostly casual as well, because no single game sold to the majority of the installed base.

Plus the Vita's best selling game is a music game and everyone knows music games are for casuals.

Seems I have to elaborate. I didn't want to come to that but... I said gamers for harcore gamers in opposition to casual gamers who imo are a big part of the 3DS audience (with Nintendo fans of course).

Okay, but what did the PS3 offer 3 years in that was so much better? Maybe we just have to wait for the 3DS install base and gamerbase to grow I guess, since 1 year in I'm almost certain the 3DS has better value propositions in Japan than the PS3 did (even for that segment). I could be wrong, as MGS4 alone could be reason enough for Japanese to get a PS3.

O_o

Look back at the games the PS3 had, then and now. I don't see how you can possibly argue the 3DS is a better value proposition when compared straight away. They shouldn't even be compared in the first place (handheld vs. console).

@ Kyuubi

Hmm, you could argue that Miku is casual only relative the very niche otaku/anime audience.

Games are games man oO And the 3DS is just one graphical gen behind, nothing that breaks the enjoyment factor of a game imho. Not even a game like resident evil.
