I don't remember reading anything about that regarding the WiiU.
I'd like to have the option to do full install onto the hdd so I can stash away the fragile discs.
Probably isn't going to happen...

Since it has no harddrive and just 8gb and 32gb flash memory I doubt it. Sure you can add harddrives but don't see developers doing it at the beginning. Maybe down the line.
You can stash away the PS3 discs? For the Xbox 360 you always need to insert the disc even when you play from the HDD (otherwise you could just make an infinite amount of copies for your friends' consoles). Isn't that the case with PS3?
I think they'll have day-and-date Digital Distribution option, but that it'll be a one-or-the-other thing vis-a-vis retail titles. Either own the digital copy or the retail, not both.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Which kinda sucks. I want to have my cake and eat it too. I can do this now with both my Wii and PS3 (though through unofficial channels).
Check out my Youtube Let's Play channel here.

You can store up to a terabyte of data on an external EHD, and swap with another terabyte EHD, and on and on, so theoretically it's pretty much limitless.

I thought u could store up to 3 TB, as that's been confirmed by Nintendo themselves. I've bought a 3TB drive.
They state that it reduces load times right if you mandatory install? I believe this but at the same time I believe it is bullshit. The whole fucking point of a home console system is that you don't have to do shit like you have to do with a PC. Just waiting for the time we gotta update our drivers, install a new gpu and defrag the hard drive.

WiiU discs should have durabis coating like PS3 games/BRs have - I don't have a single scratch even on my oldest PS3 games so you probably don't have to worry for your "fragile discs"

No offence but this is a somewhat unsmart question. I mean do you really think they will give you a disk and then let you install the game so you can sell the physical game and still play the installed games? This is not even common for the PC.
I know it would be awesome but its will not happen even not like 1x activation codes for installs that are bound to a specific disk (this would make simple disk printing way to complicated)
They want us to go DIGITAL they started to replace cool manuals with crappy piece of folded paper on 3ds. So I guess even WiiU games at least not stuff like Mario Mario kart etc wont have manuals complicated games with alot of rules etc might still get them.
And btw Blurays are way less fragile than DVDs btw
P.S. the Install disk games could only work if you would be forced to enter a included KEY and register the game online so your WiiU would be unlocked to play the game. If you sell the game the new owner has no key and cant use it at all. This would be the only way this would work but I dont want a YOU ARE FORCED TO BE ONLINE future.
