Silver is my favorite pokemon game of all time, right on!

Good luck. =)

EDIT: Good luck on the fourth gym with the ghosts. I have only once been able to beat that gym without one of my pokemon fainting (got lucky with a haunter). Unless you wait and spam up an embreon before the fight, it's definitely going to be tough! Unless of course there's I somehow missed a great pokemon to pick up for that gym. :P

To avoid many issues at the fourth gym, get your Croconaw to level thirty so it learns Crunch and evolves into Feraligatr, I did and had no problems :D

Heart Gold is bettterrrr!

Good luck!

Played through crystal recently, and for the fourth gym I used a Fearow (see NinPie, it is useful). Since it's part normal is inmune to ghost attacks, and flying moves hit ghosts that have usually low physical defense.

Edit - Totodile learns Bite at level 13 and Crunch later, he should make the forth gym a walk in the park.

I recently tried one myself (haven't updated my sig regarding it), and it's probably the hardest Nuzlocke run I've done so far.

Morty's Gym is probably the first major hurdle you're going to have in the game, since nothing prepares you for the power of his level 25 Gengar, unless you have either over-levelled your pokes, have a Gengar/Speed EV/IV Alakazam yourself or have a Stantler/Fearow or any mid-high base stat Normal poke.

I went with the Gengar route myself (caught one in Bell Tower at Night, to guarantee 100% appearance), but since you need another person/DS in order to trade-evolve Haunter, it's not the most recommended step.

@Player2 - You'd think that Croconaw with Bite would make the entire gym a walk in the park, but once you get to Morty, it's pretty useless.

His Gengar's Shadow Ball is enough to OHKO almost any Pokemon at that level, except if they got a resistance to Ghost attacks or very high Sp.Def, since Gengar's attacks usually go first due to its very high speed stat and hit very hard because of a very high Sp.Att stat as well. On a Nuzlocke run that would mean losing almost your entire party.

Morty's gym I will be ready for. Rattata will be made into a beast to deal with it. I'm not sure if there are Shiny stones in this game, but if there is, Togekiss the grand ass-crusher will eat his gym for lunch.

Ask stefl1504 for a sig, even if you don't need one.

UPDATE!

I went to route 31, grabbed up a weedle! Named Player2!
Then, after healing, went into the Dark Cave and got Zubat. Named it Theprof00.
Gonna hold off until night to go into the tower. I want a ghost...

Ask stefl1504 for a sig, even if you don't need one.

You'll only get Shiny Stones either on Route 14 (Kanto) or for 3000 points in the Pokeathlon Dome. While it's feasible, it will take you a ton of work to get those 3000 points.

As for Rattata, beware of his sucker punch and hypnosis. Even with Raticate, Gengar is still faster than Raticate by a lot, so make sure you EV train him to make up for the 13 base Speed difference.

A lot of people lose their first pokes in nuzlocke runs on SS/HG on that Gengar, so make sure you're prepared .

Pretty sure there is shiny stones because in theory you can get every pokémon in that game (excluding exclusive legendary trades and the pokémon that were only included Heart Gold).

Would love to be added to the list of names btw ^O^

Can't believe I'm a ratatta :o
