Garbage game that deserves to be roasted. The 45% by Gamespot is a bold stance against crap quality from a huge publisher.

I was thinking that.  Normally they just get a cursory 'decent' review so they keep getting review copies?

Exactly, if the mainstream websites are giving it these numbers imagine how bad it actually is.

Resident Evil 6 may be worse than 5 possibly, but do you seriously trust destructoid? I don't not after seeing them give Assassin's Creed II a 4.5 out of 10!

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

I think Jim is one of the most honest reviewers out there but you really do have to read his reviews. If you think you can stomach the flaws than more power to ya but I personally wont be buying Resident Evil as directed by Michael Bay

capcom peaked during the ps1 generation. They have been slowly sliding since then, along with pretty much every other japanese game company.

I don't think these japanese companies invest as much money and resources into their games as their western counterparts, and it shows.

I head 600 people worked on that game. They have the ressources...

And they can still do successfull game (Monster Hunter by exemple, or Street Fighter)

that is counting everybody that possibly had a hand in it, like marketing and what not.  There was only 150 people at the studio, but you are right.   That should have been plenty and Capcom did spend plenty of money on this game.  It just goes to show how much they have declined as a company.  They don't have the talent they once had.

Those games you mentioned, while successful, are still pretty low budget games compared to what a lot of western developers can do.

The Japanese developers really REALLY need to stop listening to western gamers taste. They are slowly destroying all of there mainstay IP's.

Final Fantasy
Casatlevania
Tekken
Dead or Alive
Soul Calibur
Resident Evil

If people never would have supported Microsoft with their Xbox 360,Halo and Call of DUty this would never have happened.
People try to deny it,especially western gamers but those 3 things changed gaming into a direction that is slowly destroying everything REAL Gamers
made them fall in love with the whole thing.
Even western Developers try to add "Call of Duty/Halo/Gears" feeling into their games cause this is what the biggest market aka the USA wants...at least Developers that aren't making these franchises think.
SquareEnix and Capcom would never have started with their way of thinking "We need to get the attention of CoD Gamers" if that garbage shooter wouldn't have been supported so much by gamers from the USA.
Gears changed a lot too - Brutal as possible,NO STORY(lol MARIAAAAA isn't a story) and repetetive as hell...Capcom used that formula for RE6.
Without the Resident Evil,Final Fantasy and what ever name those games would have(or will) never ever sold anything close to what they did in this Gen.
Bring FF13 or RE5 and 6 without the Name and it won't even reach 1 million worldwide cause those are low quality products.

Some Japanese Developers learned their lesson > For example Bamco with Tales of Xillia and upcoming Xillia 2 after the failure Vesperia was.
They went back to their main audience and suddenly made good decisions and games again...weird isn't it?
Those megalomaniacs at Capcom and SquareEnix should be stoped and be replaced by people who really want to make good games for people that are huge fans and supported them all the time and still hope for them to wake up.

I actully think Microsoft and the 360 have been very healthy for the industry. I'm not really into FPS, but I am under the impression COD and Halo are very good games.

In all fairness I think the best western developers are not following the Call of Duty model. If you look at the best games this gen, I would say there are both western and Japanese games that stand at the apex: Portal 2, Red Dead Redemption, Bayonetta, Dark Souls, Catherine, Xenoblade, Skyrim, Assassin's Creed, Uncharted 2, Batman Arkham City. So many other games that don't come to mind straight away.

A lot of these games arnt following the Call of Duty pattern. And I think western games have been very successful this gen becasue they are adapting to hardware faster. The Japanese developers seemed to have a hard time with the PS3 hardware; a few years into the gen games like Bayonetta, Catherine and Dark Souls showed that Japanese developers are clearly on par with their western counterparts.

Its companies like Square Enix and Capcom who are simply think your game needs to have guns and tanks to be successful in the west. A lot of games have proved this is far from the case. And I admit I thought RE6 would be a POS after RE5. But based on the IGN review, I think it looks very good and I might pick it up myself.

Hehehe take that for cancelling megaman legends 3 and giving up on megaman as a whole!

I enjoyed ORC a lot because I knew what it was. I wasn't expecting a heavy story or deep characters, it was just awesome mindless zombie action, albeit it wasn't perfect.

As for RE6, it is what it is. These reviews will not stop me from buying it and I can't buy it on day 1 because I am fairly broke but I will get it late October. I've been a fan since I first played RE: Survivor and I am a fan still. I don't bitch, I don't whine, I simply play the game that Capcom envisioned, whether it was pleasing the long time fans or the new COD crowd and decide whether it was good or bad.

Am I encouraging Capcom to continue to take RE away from its original Survival horror genre? Probably, but what can you do? I don't even like COD.

You're one of the few people here that isn't auditioning for Gran Torino 2.

There really is No Hope Left. The franchise is dead. An hour in and Im very disappointed. Worst RE to dead. I feel like I could cry.

Which campaign are you playing?

Started on Leons. Some good parts but some very poor. No evidence of survival horror here. Some kill everything moments and other times where you just need to run like a bastard. So far a 5 out of 10.
