Because they know how much ram and vram is needed to run their game, and then they compare it with the amount avaliable in the PS3/360... thats a way to measure what can and what can´t do a console...

By me:

Made with Blender + LuxRender

^well yeah, but its not the ram thats only important though it plays a big part

Ok then lets not discuss this, talking about it wont make it reality

Ugh.... The PS3 doesn't have the hardware architecture neccessary to run DirectX 10.  The Cell can't compensate for that leo.  It's that simple.

Is direct X 10 the only thing that can run crysi? OPEN GL cannot?

I don't know about OpenGL but DX9 can run crysis.  Just not at max quality at 60 FPS.  Which is what all of this is about.  You hope it can run under those conditions when it can't.  We are not saying Crysis can't run on the PS3.  It definitely can.  It just needs to toned down and optimized for the console hardware.

Well the RSX in the PS3 can run DX9, but the dev kit only allow OpenGL, but if the CryEngine2 is going to support the PS3, then they must find a way to translate DX calls to OpenGL calls...

Leo-j, games do not run on CPU's alone. (GPU's for the most part are much more important for gaming)

And even then, the 360's CPU isn't exactly a weakling either.

^yeah but it isnt exactly strong either though its GPU is
